Well, the latest episode wasn't horrible. It was still bad but not claw your face off bad. They did pull a bunch of shit out of their ass though. Betsy Ross and Mills' father to hit the highlights. In the process I think that they have now tripled the original cast. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but given their track record so far, it probably will be.

It almost looks like they're gearing up to do a spin off but that can't be the explanation since at the very least, I'm sure this show is going to be on the bubble for next season. So my best guess is that they're going to use the spaghetti approach to revamping the show in a desperate attempt to avoid cancellation. IOW, they're going to throw everything they can think of into the show and see what sticks. Like this approach has ever worked for any show . . . ever.

So, they brought back the dark rider of the apocalypse to take out Pandora (and, funny enough just sits there and watches) which just happened to double cross them, then the horseman turns out to be a wimp, until he gets his weapon back, then, he yet again, breaks his tradition of taking Pandora's head, and instead gives her some wounds.
That church scene made no sense, and was dumb, even if it was meant to "prove" Pandora was "bad".
Then, they are all sitting around in purgatory, in a bar... waiting to be reincarnated.
Finally, the next reboot comes with the feds taking Crane to DC.

So, yeah, they tossed everything in, to see if they will be renewed...

The bombshell demise of Nicole Baharie’s character Abbie on Sleepy Hollow in the third season finale continues to reverberate in the fan community with a pretty strong backlash. During an upfront press call today, Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden was asked to address the controversy. Carefully choosing her words, she said “a variety of factors led to the ending” and that it was “not a decision we wanted to make” but “we were put in a position where we had to make it.” She noted that “while there was backlash, there was also enthusiasm” among fans about where Tom Mison’s character Ichabod Crane would go next.
Backlash at the reboots? Say it ain't so!

Hmm, looks like this is starting back up tonight.
I lost track of how many reboots they have done, but, looks like another reboot tonight.

Tonight? Shit... Do I want to watch it? I've seen every episode up to the end of last season.

Now that Abby and the hot wife are gone, and it's become some massive agency, not sure I want to play. And Hawaii-Five-O is on.

I can't remember what happened last season. I just read my last post and I have no idea what I was on about. I think I must have checked out mentally where this show is concerned. But sci-fi/fantasy is my crack cocaine so I don't really have a choice.

^Abby died to help kill some monster of the season. Crane tried to get her back from land of the dead, no success. Crane was approached by some monster fighting agency out of Washington.

Ya... not really on board with that.

^I read an interview or two and the actress wanted to leave. Think she said she wasn't feeling it anymore or wanted to move on. Can't blame her, this show doesn't really have any cohesion anymore. Last season was like some huge reboot, completely different show. First and second seasons were pretty good.

A new babe (really strong as well, the way she was able to move the grate that easily) who has a kid that is mute(?) but is a psychic or something.
A new team (They work for ??? And are really, really trusting, and had no clue what most anything was, and they blow stuff up in the "office"?)
They bring back 1 person from the last reboot.
A new city/setting (DC).
A new villain that most likely made some kind of a deal with demons.
While not the worst episode, it was pretty marginal.

How far they've fallen from a mysterious machine gun wielding headless horseman in the original episode. :(

“Sleepy Hollow” brought in a 0.6 in the demo and 2.21 million viewers for its Season 4 premiere. That’s down about 33% in the demo from its Friday premiere halfway through last season, and 40% from its Season 3 premiere, though it’s right around the Season 3 finale (0.7 demo, 2.96 million viewers).

I expected as much.

^How did it get renewed with 3 million viewers? Lower budget, 30 minute comedies have been cancelled with similar ratings.

And how is Bones still on? I thought last season was the last.

Well, for a series reboot, it wasn't bad. That's not to say it was good.
They basically made a carbon copy of their base in SH down to the secret tunnels. All we're missing is the masonic sanctuary and I'm sure that's coming.

But given everything that they needed to do to re-establish the basic parameters for the series, they did a pretty decent job I thought. Even the parts where they needed to overcome the disbelief of the newbies was handled acceptably.

And the move to DC will give them better and more plausible access to a variety of assets and experts so that should help with the, dare I say it, 'believability' factor.

I'm still not optimistic about the series unless they've gotten some really kickass new writers though. The seamless handling of the premiere episode however may be grounds for some hope.

so did the headless Horseman follow him to DC?

And is Sulu still on the show? (Horseman's sidekick from season 1+2)

I forget what happened... Last or second last episode of last season, they summoned the Horseman to kill one of the main bad guys. I forget if he just road away or what.

Even has a pic of his last known appearance.
Though, I don't see how it is possible to have him move to DC, since he can't cross outside of the border of Sleepy Hollow...

DC has lots of cameras, and you are telling me, not one of those caught the "person" who hacked off Lincoln's head? And what about the guy that got his blood(?) sucked from him inside the building, no tapes of that either?

I don't remember... think they killed him off. Wait, or did he just ride off and get called back whenever the plot required it? Think it's the latter.

Well, we have season 2 for some time now and season 3 since recently.
Nicole Beharie always looked great in the series but in season 3 she sure looks even more stunning.
