I had a follower with sick gear(easily 10k worth) (dragon head to toe + legendary ebony battleaxe enchanted etc) I had him wait out side for a minute while I went into a cave(companion quest line) the game removed my follower and I lost all the gear he had. LAME.

My saves were all screwed up and if I wanted to go back I would have lost about 4 hours of play time or more.

The follower still exists though right? He wasn't killed or something? Maybe still has all the shit back in town or wherever, just not equipped?

I have this and it's absolutely incredibly resourceful. I mean it has everything in it, and the quests are explained in detail. It's much better than searching around on line for something.

Yup, agreed. My wife got me one before the game released and I'm a big fan. And it makes a nice coffee table book 🙂
 
This game is awesome, I just beat the first dragon and was on my way to see the gray beards when I came across my first troll. I hurried past it and then headed up the stairs where I came across a snow troll, DAMN. How do I beat this thing? I have a level 4 character, is it even possible? Also what weapons do you all recommend? Currently I am have using a one hand sword and fire magic in the other.

Was it in his inventory if you tried to pick-pocket him, or re-hire him and trade inventory? I know that, for example, Lydia will unequip all her shit when I send her back to the house.

Hide behind a rock and shoot with arrows. If you position yourself just right the troll will stand in front of you and not know which way to turn. Cheap but effective.
 
Level 46

Got my 100 on Smithing and Enchanting.

I have a full set of dragon scale (legendary and my second set as I lost the first as seen above), dragon plate(half legendary) and working on my full set of daedric armor(have helmet, armor, and gauntlets so far).

I have to restart the daedric one because I want to be able to double enchant each piece. I didn't realize that the double enchantment has to occur at the same time. I need more daedra hearts!

I'm sitting on about 16k gold and have at least 10k in extra goods in my whiterun house. I've obviously been busy grinding and crafting so I still have a lot of quests to complete.

Needless to say my gear is pretty sick and I am whooping ass. (upped difficulty to expert back in the -30s-)
 
I'm at about level 24. Had a few marathon playing sessions over the weekend with a friend and my g/f (she's only level 8).

The huge guide book has saved my butt on a few occasions. Loving the game.
 
Warcrow and Others. I need your collective help. I have NEVER hid the fact I am an OLD gamer. Think C-64 and playing a game called Magic Candle... AND I was late 20's THEN... (Possible early 30's).
Anyway, I digress.
I got Skyrim as a Christmas Gift for my Xbox. I was torn from SQUARE one. To exchange it for PC.
I play a lot of Xbox (the Fables, the Mass Effect and a LOT of sport games).
I have played both Witchers and BOTH Batmans on my PC. So walking and aiming works for me on PC. And I play 95% of my FPS on PC.
All well enough to my expectations. WASD and my 5 mouse buttons (all programable) serve me WELL on PC.

I am having a HUGE issue with Skyrim on 360. Between trying to play in First Person and TRYING to land that friggin TINY rectile on the target, I almost threw my wireless controller out the window last night.
Switching to 3rd person helped a little this AM. I have gone through the setting screens (all I think) and DONT see a "Stick" adjuster.
On my PC I can speed up or slow down my mouse.
I appear a little too heavy on both sticks. I eithermiss wildly right or left and then usually walk past the target giving them my large back as a huge target.

ANY help would be appreciated. I'd HATE to go back and take a 50% loss on trade for the PC version. But I appear in a pickle.

you can adjust sensitivity in your settings.

I don't think anyone would recommend third person in an Elder Scrolls game 😛

I have heard the book is INSANE as far a large.

May have to look into it.

When I'm running in the wild I do third person to get that better 360 perspective. Sometimes when using magic(fireballs etc.) or when creeping in caves I goto first person.

Also you can adjust the distance the camera is from your player in third person mode. Depress the right stick and hold it down while you use the left stick to zoom in/out

Same here - if I'm outside running around I always go 3rd person.

Yeah, not convinced. I installed it, and I've repeatedly seen instances of textures not sharpening both while trading and looking at items and just environmental textures. I'm living with it for the sake of load times and less stress on the 360, but I think that shitty bug will be permanent.
 
The game is great and so is the strategy guide. I am level 10 and finally fighting my second dragon, I can almost beat it but I keep losing. What skills you recommend I put my points towards for a Nord?
 
Oh my god I am obsessed with this game. I didn't think I'd like it so I didn't buy it, played a bit of it with my cousins over the new year holiday, and had to borrow it. Might have to buy it for myself just so I can wonder around.

Right now I'm an Imperial, Level 10, working my way through the thieves guild. Just got to level 40 sneak. 😀
