http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/05/skyrim-collectors-edition-comes-with-unlimited-dragons-plus-on/

Comes with a 1ft tall dragon statue, large 200 page coffee table art book, making of DVD, large cloth map.

I'm holding off on the game till I see some reviews. Want to know if they have fixed the levelling system and of course if the game itself is fun. If it's yes to these two I probably will just get the game but I have to admit I'm tempted to get this. Actually upon thinking about it more I'm not.

Update:

Okay not that I wanted it but after watching the unboxing I want it even less. Wow that really is a waste of money

Still looking forward to the game proper though.

Lol, my first thought was holy crap 150... better come with a bust of pallas... and it sounds like it pretty much does(but in dragon form).

So minus the game, theres maybe less than $20 worth of stuff. nice.
The Witcher 2 collectors edition was far nicer than this.
Include some cards, a board game, a hardback story book, figurines..etc and i would say wow.
Why not some fake coins, heck make a board game with cool peices and people would eat it up but this is junk imo for that price.

Yeah. I asked a local EB Games though how their preorders were going for Skyrim and the numbers were something like 150+ for regular orders and 40-50 for the CE edition so you can see even at $150 they are selling not a small number of these.

this is bethesda, it's going to be just as buggy as all their other titles. Not sure why anyone is preordering it let alone the CE.

I'll say! I remember back in the day Civilization games use to come with some hefty manuals around 150 pages for $40. It didn't come with coffee table art, but it was a work of art in its own right.

This is why I'm not preordering anything. About the only game I may preorder is Diablo III. And as car as CEs go I may get the DIII one depending on what is in it and looks like I'll get Zelda Skyward sword CE.

Tempted, but I know I always do jackshit with my collector's editions. I admire the pretty stuff, throw it on my bookshelf, and never touch it again. And that's just for the $80 ones.

Lulz, I'll get the standard version thank you. And it has little to do with the $'s, I simply don't want the crap it comes with.

With that said, Skyrim might be one of the few games I could care less about what the reviews say. I'm getting it, oh yes... I'm getting it. Brand new engine (say goodbye to Gamebryo) should be awesome, though with any game that involves this many triggers it's sure to have issues, and who knows maybe just as many as the older games. The open ended gameplay is the real draw, and from all accounts it's sure to be stellar.

I will not be preordering, but it would take something horrifc, like review scores in the 6's, for me not to grab this game.

The leveling system is different from Oblivion. It was confirmed that you don't pick specializations, you just play, and skills level up from what you use often. Races and birth signs still give you a head-start in leveling skills though. Hope this helps I can link you to the game play video if you want to hear it yourself.

I usually just pick up collector's editions if they come with cool in-game stuff that I want or they're from Blizzard. :p

I'm usually a sucker for these special editions, but I'm not feeling it for this one. Think I'm still getting over the Civ V SE.

$150 for that? Makes me lol. Maybe if it came with a elf fleshlight.

Ok this one made my day, gave me a good laugh.

:)

The worst is I kinda agree. Seriously though, for such a price I would expect something in the package other than the game itself to actually be interesting. The dragon statue... meh, it wouldn't fit well on my desk anyway and I prefer just seeing my keyboard, my monitor and both speakers there, I like clean desks, the statue would end up in my closet in some cardboard box anyway. As for the making-of DVD... seriously, YouTube, Dailymotion and torrenting doesn't ring a bell over at Bethesda?

I'm in love with Skyrim as much as anyone here, but I really don't see why you'd pay so much for this...

I think I'm full up on tchotchkes for a while, though I do think that dragon statue is pretty (along with the Darth Malgus statue from the Star Wars: The Old Republic CE). $150 pretty, though...?

Yeah. I only went for one of these once -- RTCW in the metal box. Still have it, but it's stuffed away in a box gathering dust somewhere.

I declined on the MM:H VI CE because it was £50 as opposed to £25 for just the game.

Missed out on an Art Book and Soundtrack which I sorta cared about as well as a T-shirt and some misc things I couldn't give a toss about. Art Book and Soundtrack weren't worth the £25.

However if someone knows someone who would sell the Artbook or Sountrack individually.... message me :)

Haha my brother had the same exact box! It was awesome

I'm a big RPG fan, and I really tried to get into Oblivion, but I just couldn't. After tinkering with patches and mods for days trying to get everything working together, I just didn't feel drawn into the game when I finally played it.

It just felt aimless. There's tons of stuff to do, but no real reason to do it. I guess it's just not my type. Skyrim will probably be the same.
