A plastic dragon and a big cloth map? ......they might as well sell it with a chastity belt. ;)

Depends on what the dragon statue is made from. Article doesn't say what it's made from. If plastic then yes, they're fleecing their die hard fans for as much money as they can and it's not worth that much. But a pewter statue of that size would be pretty expensive. But I wouldn't buy it either way.

Honestly the Skyrim CE is a total ripoff. $150 for some dragon statue and one random book is too much.

The Oblivion CE was reasonable, Skyrim took the CE to CoD levels of crazy.

This CE is overpriced by about $80.

this is bethesda, it's going to be just as buggy as all their other titles. Not sure why anyone is preordering it let alone the CE.

buggy, yes. epic still, no doubt.
bugs will get fixed and fans will make tons of mods. Oblviion was horrible on release with bugs and graphics were dissapoint, but i still enjoyed it and it wasnt long till it looked amazing.

I was actually disappointed with Oblivion, dumbed down and virtually no storyline which you could finish in 5 mins....I hope they actually put more effort in Skyrim this time round.

They already know anyone buying a CE has no need of one.

no, but they do need to include this

i thought it had plenty of lore and story. helps if you read the ingame books, talk to people..etc. No the story wasnt in your face cutscenes, but more like HL series.
i think the dumb down RPG elements is in response to this lazy generation of gamers. Its not like too many people play dungeons and dragons anymore

If you want epic, go back and play Daggerfall. Even Morrowind was small in comparison. Oblivion was far from epic, and I doubt Skyrim will be either simply because all anyone really cares about is the graphics. When you spend all your development money on the graphics portion, it doesn't leave much to put into the rest. In fact, they should just stop making games and just make CGI movies as that seems to be all anyone wants these days.

Don't get me wrong, I like nice graphics, but Oblivion was very far from "bad" looking out of the box, yet that is all you ever hear people talking about. That says much about the state of gaming. Those who played the older games know it looked better and had less to say about the graphics than the game just being over all dumbed down and less expansive.

This CE version is overpriced crap that obviously someone will buy or they wouldn't put it out. Again, ppl preordering anything these days is just...wow. People amaze me.

I will eventually probably get Skyrim, but I'm not in a hurry....too many backlogs of games anyway :) Currently playing Star Control II (never played it before).

Maybe you could keep it boxed, not open it, and sell it on Pawn Stars someday!!

i don't see this particular CE having enough future value to make it worth while.
Like i said, they should have made a decent board game, fake coins, ring/jewlry or detailed chess set, a sword, all contained in a wooden box instead of cardboard..ya know, something thats more unique than a small shelf knick knack and printed cloth. This just reeks of cheap China.

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/05/skyrim-collectors-edition-comes-with-unlimited-dragons-plus-on/

Comes with a 1ft tall dragon statue, large 200 page coffee table art book, making of DVD, large cloth map.

I'm holding off on the game till I see some reviews. Want to know if they have fixed the levelling system and of course if the game itself is fun. If it's yes to these two I probably will just get the game but I have to admit I'm tempted to get this.

Given that the fallout games didn't have that and they were very similar in style, I would be shocked if they stuck it back in for Skyrim. The fan outcry was pretty big on that and I think they listened starting with Fallout 3.

$150 for a console port? No thanks, I could spend that on something useful. Sub-$40 for me.

I love my CE's of Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas, but man I'm gonna have to pass on this one. $150 is crazy.

I'll just have to pick up "The Making Of" DVD off of ebay after I beat the game.

Yeah no way in hell im even playing full price for skyrim let alone the CE.

Oblivion was such a fail im going to wait at least till the first HD texture packs, unofficial patch, and game/leveling fixing mod is out.

The DLC trend has kept me from buying RPG's on release lately.

I don't mind add-on DLC for most genres. It works well for strategy type stuff where you can get a couple new maps or a new race, or FPS games where there's no character progression or story.

When I play an RPG I want all of the content to be in the game from the beginning. I don't want to pick up an RPG I finished months ago to play three hours worth of content, I want those three hours to be part of the initial experience.

I'll probably be buying Skyrim during Steam's Christmas 2012 sale when the "Game of the Year Complete Edition" includes the game and 15 DLC packs for $25.

I think this pricing is nutty for most players, but might fit the market, going for the top incomes - remember, Tiffany's sales are UP like 25%, like other top luxury brands.

The rich spend an average of $300,00 a year *on watches* - $150 for this isn't a problem if they want it.

As crazy as the pricing is, it's also 149 *Euros* which is even more.

This will be my first Bethseda PC game. How fast are they with addressing issues via patch? Given all the negative things I'm hearing about Bethseda I'm strongly considering holding off until they push their first patch out.

???

Not fast enough based on their previous titles, but we don't know yet how Skyrim support will be like.

Just don't pre-order the game, wait for professional and user reviews, and then act based on that info.
