I dont think the Skylilne is available, aside from import in America.

My uncle has one.

I maintain, they are not available in the US at the car dealerships. The first time it will ever Retail in the US is in 2007:
Quote from NissanUSA
Nissan GT-R is a go for U.S.
The dream of every red-blooded automotive enthusiast is coming true. On April 12, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn gave the wake up call; the Nissan GT-R is go. The production version will make its world debut at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. It will go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007. U.S. and Canada will follow in Spring 2008.[/L]

If he has one he somehow imported it.

😕 He got it at the dealership, just like everyone else. You missed one important part of the article.

Carlos Ghosn broke the news at the New York auto show on Wednesday, April 12th, 2006 that the next GT-R will be sold under the Nissan badge in the United States.

Right now the skyline is sold under the infiniti badge. In case you didn't notice in that pic, that's really an infiniti g35. The g35 is just a rebadged skyline, although a few people have the nissan badges on them instead.

Looks like a 350Z

Well Nissan was debating whether or not to release it as an Infiniti or not, and most of their infinitis are based on the 350Z.

The lights actually look pretty nice IMO.

Nissan never produced a Skyline GT-R to comply with the United States
standards.

So while they may look the same there are some fundamental differences.

They have had the R skylines (Not the R34) on sale in the US only in Cali that were street legal, before the g85 and this new prototpe.

Malak, what was the whole point of your "my uncle has one" argument. Seriously, isn't that what those losers who think they are bragging in some way always use? My uncle has one so I know...

Like you've admitted he owns an Inifiniti G35, not a Skyline.

Unfortunately I've known too many people who pull that and its always irritating, especially when they're so easily proven wrong.

As for the car, it's alright looking but there are too many weird angles that seem put there for no good reason and mar the looks. Also, some of those cutoff rear/tailight shots remind me a lot of a Cobalt. Its definitely sporty, and has a pretty good pedigree, and another performance car with some style is always nice.

some guy in portland has a black R33 GT-R, i seen it and i was like :Q
if it costs something like 50k, i will buy one... in blue 🙂

Sort of. Nissan in Japan released the G35 as a skyline. Previous to that version, all the skylines have been exotic supercars with generally sedan-like styling but impressive technical features. The G35 was obviously way different than previous skylines, but Nissan wanted to cash-in on the name. The new GT-R destroys any G35 in technical features but has the edgier look Nissan is moving toward. I'm glad they didn't decide to continue tarnishing the name with an inferior car.

It's like the little 4-banger mustangs Ford kicks out. Yeah, there is a respectable version of that car, but Ford sacrificed itself to capitalize on a market. The only reason those cars get respect is because of their heritage. If they started making the wannabe cars from the beginning, mustangs would be laughed at.

Slightly incorrect. There have always been ordinary Skylines, it's just that all most 2F2F viewers know about them is the GTR variety.

So the speculation begins. VQ35DET? Please? I can't see them selling us a turbo car again but it would be so nice!
