Skylines had Twin Turbo I-6's, not quite sure if having it a V6 make much difference

nah That's a very nissan looking 240sx tail with round blackouts. The new GT-R has the same curves and upper lip. The upper lip, in particular, was absent on previous skylines, but has been on the corvette for 39 years.

imo, those "corvette"-ish 'curves and upper lips' are a necessity for the Skylines to look modern. The 240sx-style you described is certainly very Nissan-ish but definitely is dated.
