They have never been sold by Nissan in the US. All the cars that have been imported are gray-market, and I think they're all right-hand drive, which I imagine would bug me to no small degree.

Malak, what was the whole point of your "my uncle has one" argument. Seriously, isn't that what those losers who think they are bragging in some way always use? My uncle has one so I know...

I'm not bragging about anything 😕

Like you've admitted he owns an Inifiniti G35, not a Skyline.

It is a skyline, all you have to do is swap the badges. It's the same model in Japan. Maybe not a GT-R, but who gives a flying fvck. Every car goes the same speed at 30mph, it's not like we have the autobaun here or anything. The G35 version of the skyline is the best looking one they ever did, better looking than this new GT-R. Who cares about horsepower when you can't go above 80 in it anyway?

Unfortunately I've known too many people who pull that and its always irritating, especially when they're so easily proven wrong.

As for the car, it's alright looking but there are too many weird angles that seem put there for no good reason and mar the looks. Also, some of those cutoff rear/tailight shots remind me a lot of a Cobalt. Its definitely sporty, and has a pretty good pedigree, and another performance car with some style is always nice.

You are an idiot. I wasn't proven wrong by anyone, I provided a picture of the skyline in question in my post and it is identical to the G35 sold here in America, which you can get with Nissan badging from the factory if you want. Those taillights don't remind you of a cobalt, a cobalt's taillights should remind you of a skyline or a ferrari. The cobalt copied them, not the other way around.

Skyline =! GTR

Bah, it's like having the Lancer released in America, then when the EVO comes out saying the Lancer was never released in America. It's the same model, different engine. You can always do an engine swap and make a sweet sleeper, that's why I didn't get the EVO. Lancer ES costs half as much and you can push out just as much HP as the EVO for less total cost than an EVO is, and you have a sleeper.

OK, GTFO of this thread. It's about high performance cars, and you don't care about them, so stop posting.

Really, shut up.

pet peeve: people who think Nissan Skyline only exists in the GTR trim

We have what in Japan is the Skyline..but rebadged as the G35
You can goto the Nissan Japan website right now and look up the Skyline and see for yourself.

Most newbs automatically think Skyline = r32 to r34 models GTR trim (ie 2 door, awd, twin turbo inline 6)

so to the people that said we never got the Skyline in the States, that is a misnomer..we never got the Skyline GTR in the states...stop implying Skyline = GTR

Look on NissanUSA's site and you tell me where it says anythink that starts with an 'S' ends with a 'e' and in the middle is "kylin". Guarantee you there is nothing there.

You do not just swap the badges!! There are other differences in the cars. Additionally, by your methodology we should all be driving around little Toyota Prius's or something. I mean seriously who needs any more than ~100 HP. We can USE it! Give me a break.

Except for the fact that you'll get roasted if you do anything but a run from a roll because it'll be stuck with FWD. There are MAJOR differences between the trims other than badges and engines. Like your drive line, and suspension.

Stop posting in this thread until you learn more about cars.

On topic. I think it's really cool they're finally bringing the GT-R over. I think it looks pretty decent as well.
