Core i3-6100 is a much better chip, luckely OP made the right choice. Also let's not forget the upgrade options LGA1151 provides.

Cheers guys!

As i said, GPU next. Maybe a 960 but nothing more costly! 2nd hand would be good as money tight

I noticed earlier in the thread you mentioned wanting to play Battlefield and ETS2 (these are games from 2013). In this case 2nd hand Nvidia Kepler would work great.

For the new games (like Just cause 3), here is the results thread:

(With used GTX 770 prices starting @ $170 shipped on ebay "buy it now" listings, I think a new sale priced GTX 960 is a better deal)

Wait until Pascal or Artic.... is a better choice now

The OP is building a system today and wants to play games now. These GPUs aren't going to be here for a while, so a totally useless recommendation.

@ Teabaghead -- maybe consider buying a used GTX 680 or Radeon 7970? Good bang for the $.

Get a used 290 if you can find one with an aftermarket cooler (not the blower, but with 2 or 3 fans you can see on the side of it).

If you don't mind a loud fan card, you could get the blower. This would probably be ok if your PC sits far away from you. Used 290's with the blower can be found as cheap as $175 used on this forum's For Sale / Trade subforum. You would want to set up in your drivers a slightly more aggressive fan setting (fan target @ 50% instead of default) so it wouldnt throttle.

2nd best would be to get a used 280x or 7970. I've seen these go for as cheap as $120 used. I bought a used 7950 a few months back here for $100.
