Only about 4TB written to the SSD so far, when I first got it, the performance was:

Now, the write has dropped by about half:

the only difference which I think was different is I was on Windows 11 21H1 when I benchmarked it the first time and now I am on the latest 22H2. The read speeds are the same. What gives?

PS: I even tried using the Samsung NVMe modded drive but that didn't change the write speeds.
Antivirus is disabled while taking the test

So they they moved under Sandisk software entirely? I thought WD had their own software..
Yes, last month I had the WD Dashboard installed and it prompted me for an update. When it updated, it was renamed to SanDisk Dashboard but everything else is exactly the same, not a single change, not even the UI or colors.

I guess i covered all my storage needs for forseeable future.
I am keeping 980 pro and installing 4tb sn850x in my X870E motherboard slots connected to CPU
And 2 slots that work from chipset will be populated with 2tb OEM drives from Kioxia some guy i found selling with 0tb writes, just some hours powered on. Decent deal. Better price than hynix..
