Yeah, that's a bummer... 🙁 I generally agree with everyone who critiques the design... edge-to-edge glass looks great, but not so good for even minor drops.

On the plus side, the LCD looks ok. It's an easy fix... Should be less than $15 for new glass on Ebay or Amazon and then pop the two screws on the bottom, pry out the old glass and put the new glass in. It's an easy one to fix...

Unfortunately the iPhone 4 and 4S have the glass bonded to the LCD, so he would need to replace the entire LCD/Glass/digitizer unit.

I fix phones as a hobby, but i am afraid i will not do this one. iPhone 4 are generally easy fix unless you want to change the mid frame. 26 screws to get to the screen but as personal phone i rather have a factory fresh unit.

Yeah, I stand corrected.

I've fixed 3G's and 3GS's and I thought the 4 was the same.

Do you have an Apple Store nearby? If so, walk it in, tell your story and hope for the best (but expect nothing).

This is why despite the fact that I love my Casecrown Glider case, I'm replacing it with something more "sticky" and protective. I swear it feels like my phone is coated with teflon with this case on.

fixing to go in a bit is my wife's phone and she can't be without a phone (or a cracked one in this case) show sad panda face and hope for the best, otherwise i am ready to shell out $200. Usually i am very careful have used over 10 different phones over the past 18 months and have never drop one.
She is usually pretty careful because she had a 4 and never put a dent or scratch, this one just did a belly flop face down so here is the outcome.

Apparently you don't go to an Apple Store often.

Get a ditzy/hot wife/gf/friend to walk looking 50% slutty/50% librarian in and tell them a sob story while twisting their hair and flirting.

I don't think a helpful attitude in the midst of such is unique to Apple stores 😉 😛

I'd be surprised if the back glass is still in one piece while the front glass is in such a shape.

Quite a sight to see in any case. Never bored of it for some reason.

That's what I did to get my MacBook Pro screen fixed.

It's not edge-to-edge, but I can't help but wonder how the convex glass-protruding face of the new Nokias are going to stand up to dropping.

I think it's a store by store basis. The stores around are forgiving. Worth a shot.
I hate the gadget has an owie feeling. I recommend the Magpul case. It's only ten bucks, and it's awesome. I'm rocking one now.

Ouch. Exactly why when I (being an occasional butter-fingers) handle my wife's iPhone4 with extreme care.
