Without a doubt, iPhone fanatics are at least slightly crazy.

Is it a nice phone? Sure.

Is it comparable to a freakin' BMW, or ' bling bling jewelry' or "I'm suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a hipster just because I bought this phone"?

No. Unless you are slightly crazy.

I'll say it again- I don't hate Apple, I dislike their irrational fans that try and make tech into some sort of crazy cult religion, and constantly thump their iGizmos at everyone like bibles proving it.

you actually just described the majority of the android fanboys i've seen, including tons on this forum right here.

I'm not an Apple fan boy, and the only reason I'm going to be buying an iPhone 4s is because of how the phone looks & feels in my hand. I spent $200 on a Corsair case because of how it looks. Looks are more important to some than others, where some don't care at all. My case wasn't worth $200 imho, but it looks nice, and I fall into the category of gravitating towards things that are visually stimulating.

So maybe I'm being too proactive here, but I think I can see where this is going and I figured I'd throw this out there: as a general warning it's fine to talk about fan-people in the abstract, but if people start acusing specific members of being fanatics (of either persuasion), we'll be talking. I personally think that it's a way of labelling people who disagree with you, "I'm not listening to you because you are an 'XYZ' and thus your opinion doesn't count" and in my book it's a form of mild personal attack.

And in general, if you see anything you think is trolling or out of line, please use the "report a post" button.

Thanks for keeping it impersonal

From what I've seen, many people around here know stats and facts and make their case using those- Android fans or otherwise. Then someone comes along and their whole 'argument' is MY PHONE LOOKS BETTER THAN YOURS AND I'M HIP JUST BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT!!!!

Then anyone who disagrees with that, or doesn't care that someone thinks that is supposedly a 'fanboy'.

I can respect that you like the way things look.

What some can't seem to fathom, is it's all subjective. I like the look of the iPhone 4 and 4S too- but I happen to think their are many far better looking phones. For example, my Droid X to me looks better than an iPhone 4- the design, the shape, the larger screen, the materials, everything. The SGS2 looks LEAGUES better than any iPhone, in every way to me. I understand that others feel differently- great for them. It's this silly insistence by some that the iPhone is the pinnacle of everything that I take issue with- it may be for you. It isn't for me and many others.

I think it's bullshit that people can't realize that people buy phones for different reasons. If I were about to go to war I probably wouldn't take an iPhone.

People have different requirements for phones. HOW HARD IS IT TO UNDERSTAND THAT?

This section of the forum is bull hurt and won't understand that people like different things. Android is not great. THAT'S WHAT I THINK OF IT.

Btw 90% android phones have crappy build quality. They feel like shit. Other than Apple I guess HP? Possibly?

...bu the marketing and culture of Apple is the only one that is palpable. The only place you see the cult-attachment to gadgets is with Apple, and is right there in their marketing, and their perception in the media.

For some the lack of durability is a feature.

My sister-in-law won't let me fix her cracked glass iPhone for two reasons:

1. She is going to break it again anyway (she is on third 3GS) because the iPhones are so fragile.

2. She likes knowing which phone is hers instantly when around friends.

She is also the only member of my family that lacks a case for her iPhone because she claims a case will prevent it from slipping in her small purses. Everyone else in my family with an iPhone (which is everyone in my nuclear family and most of my extended) use some sort of case with most being Otterboxes.

You are wrong, android fanboys feel like they are special because they can "hack" their phone and "make it work the way they want it to". I just got tired of that shit hence i went to iphone, i do not feel i need to read 1 hr to remove bloat on my phone or make a basic update.
