Idle Temps

Kinda odd. Ambient temp is higher than the CPU (I'm not using anything other than a Coolermaster HHC-001 on the CPU, so it's not because I'm using any odd cooling).

I have 6 case fans, too (2 in the rear blowing in, one on the side of the case blowing in, one on top sucking air out, and 2 in the front blowing in past my HD).

Your CPU is somehow 8C cooler than your system temp? I doubt that.

If you look at the pic I attached, that's directly from my own mobo's tool (mobo is pretty much new). MBM reflects almost identical temps. Like I said, I was trying to figure out why the difference myself, because generally, your ambient is cooler than your CPU.

I know, I am not suggesting you are readint the temps wrong, but that is just physically impossible.

Actually, it's very possible. If you run a peltier, say, then the CPU temp is going to be cool as hell, right? And the ambient wouldn't be. While odd, if the temp sensor for ambient is located somewhere that's warmer for some reason, that could be another possibility for the higher ambient temp.

*ahem* I know about the different types of cpu cooling, but are you running phasechange or a peltier? I think not. Hence the physically impossile part.

*ahem* Did you look at my other suggestion of possibility as to why the temps are showing up as they are, or did you just bypass that and simply perceive that I was attacking you or your lack of knowledge (which I wasn't)? Maybe you should calm down a bit overall, since this thread you've been vehement way too much on things that *aren't possible*, when obviously they are.

T-bred B @ 1200 mhz @ 1.2V actual with an SLK 900 U with no fan = 41C idle and 48C under full load with an ambient temp of 21C and two very low rpm case fans.

Same system but with two 80 mm zalman fans blowing fresh air through a duct into the case at the slk yields about 23C.

It also runs nicely and pretty qietly @ 2.5 ghz and 1.9V.. but since I don't do any gamiing at all i don't need it so I run it at 1.2 ghz which is more than sufficient for browsing the net and downloading porn :)
