I guess so, as I don't feel the need to run back to my computer and ask a bunch of idiots if that is worthy of reporting...

Are you also afraid to ask to speak to a manager in a restaurant?
 
You'd have to be a complete idiot if you think that those two are the only lifeguards at the facility who are getting high, or that they're not showing up at work already high. They just fucked up by not being more discrete. Management of the pool probably also gets high and the result of the complaint will most likely be that the two will be told to keep it hidden.
 
If they're in a situation where they are responsible for operating equipment or protecting others, then I'd absolutely report it. You did the right thing. I don't care what people do in the privacy of their own homes. They're safe at home - they can watch television and perhaps scarf down a whole bag of doritos. But, life guarding? No way.

Years ago, I (along with dozens of other people) saw a near collision of roller coasters at a theme park - as passengers were finishing boarding a coaster, someone started sending in the next car before the first left the station. The eyes of a couple of the people running the ride suggested pot. A lot of people wouldn't get on the ride; a couple minutes later, the police/security were escorting the operators from the ride.

Except, they're not just babysitting. They are charged with the safety of everyone occupying the pool. You think someone toking up is going to react as quickly to a situation where a kid is drowning? Yeah, not happening.

What a pussy move, you should of confronted the kids on your own. And now you have just your word against theirs so you are going to have to confront them anyhow LOL, hope they are not the vengeful kind, kids can be ruthless.

Not afraid. Just not worth it. I would simply leave a shitty tip, type up a bad yelp review and never come back.

How is it not worth it? If it is a situation that could be remedied by a manager and requires correction, leaving a shitty tip and writing a yelp review doesn't fix the problem. Sounds like you are afraid though. Why not avoid all possibly conflict outside of the safety of your internet anonymity! At least, you weren't afraid to respond to my post.
 
Its been many years since I've indulged however I really do believe that weed isn't that bad and should be 100% legal for use by adults.

Having said that if they were life-guards on duty you should absolutely report it.


Edit: Not to the police ... to the management.

I see your sarcastic smiley but obviously a number of people are thinking what you wrote and to them I write:

You know what I like less than a snitch? Dead kids because idiot lifeguards want the pay for the job but don't want to follow the requirements of the position because "they are a special snowflake" and the rules don't apply to them.
 
So it's okay for some you folks that they light up while on "lifeguard" duty, putting at risk the lives at stake in case they need help. 🙄

6 Lifeguards Accused Of Smoking Marijuana On The Job In The Rockaways

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Lifeguards have allegedly been lighting up while working at a city beach, and they haven’t been smoking cigarettes.
As CBS 2’s Vanessa Murdock reported Thursday, six lifeguards have been arrested on allegations that they smoked marijuana while on duty in the Rockaways in Queens.
“I guess it’s a little outrageous, isn’t it, that people that are responsible for other people’s lives would be slacking off and doing things that are not safe,” said Sharon Korn, of Far Rockaway.
Walking onto the beach when lifeguards are on duty is normally reassuring, knowing they’ve got your back if you get into trouble.
But the six lifeguards stationed in the Rockaways allegedly did not think saving lives was serious business, as they were caught smoking pot on their lunch break near the corner of Seagirt Boulevard and Beach 10th Street on the Fourth of July.
The Fourth of July was a day with drenching rains and dangerous rip currents, with Hurricane Arthur off the coast.
“Somebody could drown, you know? Somebody who’s all drugged up on pot — how do they expect to save somebody?” a beachgoer said.
All in their late teens, the lifeguards were arrested and charged with criminal and unlawful possession of marijuana.

What does that even mean? Its dinner, not my job. If it sucks then move on to the next one. Its not my job to talk to the manager and try to fix the place. In my experience the manager already knows and tolerates it anyway.

Are you stupid? Why would you ever leave your kid swimming under a lifeguards supervision? You do realize it's not their job to babysit right?

@the op, if you where gonna report it should've been done there on the spot. Do you know their names, do they have any special markings that will easily tell them apart from others, and how much do you think some email is gonna make somebody concerned?
 
I figure if they're not harming anyone, let them be.

If they're lifeguards or otherwise people who should not be high, or perhaps those same people are being hostiile to others, then I'd report it.
