definitely dont report it,

they probably learned there lesson freaking out noticing, that you noticed them.

all you'll do if you report it is make them all lose there jobs, would you think it was bad if you knew a lifeguard took a prescribed xanax before being on duty? would you think that was a concern?

Reporting is the worst choice, they can deny it was them vs some other lifeguard, deny they did anything like you suggest.

The choice is more confront or ignore. I would not confront without dragging some other adult along as a witness. With another adult I would confront and tell them parents or police, either they give me a number where I can call right then and talk to one of their parents, or call the police and let the cops sort it out. Take pictures with your phone.

Confront them, drop your pants and ask the girl "you wanna smoke this instead?"
It's the only way to guarantee consequences!

Are you saying it would be OK if your kid did while they were high?

Just got an email back from the Manger. He asked more additional questions about what they looked like and where they were.

I cannot believe some of the idiots in this thread. Regardless of your stance on Pot anyone who is in a job that is responsible for others lives should not be doing that job impaired(Pot, Alchohol, Even Prescription pills that affect you). Period end of story, no If's And's of But's about it.

You did the right thing.

UPDATE

Went to the pool today to drop my kids off. Apparently one of the father's there said his daughter saw a boy in the same room smoking on a pipe. He tried to get more details about what it looked like etc... But most 9 yo girls won't know what that type of thing looks like. So apparently someone was hitting the pipe or something like that. I'm sending this to the manager as well...

meh i just dont see it as that huge of an issue, i dont think there's ever been a case of anyone drowning because someone was too stoned to save them, besides the ridiculous war on drugs propoganda commercial that used to air on television.

nobody cares if the emt takes a xanax for anxiety, or the firetruck driver takes an anti depressant, or your very own doctor takes a daily opiate for pain.. why are we caring here? because we want to extend our rights into others people's lives? that's simply what it comes down to.

yes i do have children, do i care if their kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher burns one at lunch? not a bit. Alcohol would be an entirely different story however, it actually DOES impair in a way that would effect these types of things. Marijuana doesn't magically make someone unable to suddenly do their job, literally millions of people are doing they're jobs every single day on marijuana and prescription meds, there's a reason they don't disqualify you from a job with a prescription. i'm not gonna allow an obvious fear campaign waged on the general public in this country dictate or overrule my own experience, and actual facts.

i guess a good question would be for the parents completely against this and ready to nail these kids to the wall over this? would you care if you just drove by the pool and noticed this? if this wasn't YOUR kids pool? what if it was a pool party? a private pool with children in it, and parents smoking marijuana in the yard/near the pool?
