If playing games is like wiping your ass after you take a sh*t, then go buy the game and be done with it.
Wow, that is the dumbest thing I've read today. Well, until the part about communists.

I watched that COD4 interview, and I can understand some anger. But IW gave you guys that game in COD4, and got what? Maybe decent PC sales, but a very small % of total sales as well as high piracy rates. So you can't expect them to go all out and give PC gamers the kitchen sink. What they did was provide a game at least as good as the console versions.

I have never pirated any PC games, and I believe it is IW's responsibility to prevent piracy without removing fundamental features that make their products as great as it is today. The PC gaming community has been around a lot longer than COD4, and credits should be given to the modders and developers for making such a unique game.

Wouldn't it be ridiculous if Microsoft forced all their consumers to use nothing but MS products due to piracy? I think that would be a HUGE outrage.

Btw duragezic, we can make a movie called dumb & dumber 2, and I can be dumb ^_^ ! It's so crazy even Hitler agrees with me!

Anybody found any good deals on the PC version? After watching GameTrailers review, I'm pretty pumped to play this game. I figure I can just sell it after the 2 days it takes me to finish.

Your decision to buy this game all comes down to your personal principles, and what they are worth to you. If playing games is like wiping your ass after you take a sh*t, then go buy the game and be done with it.

• Why are people upset about COD5-MW2?
You should really watch this original IW interview of COD4-MW (PC vs Console) which talks about what made the original Modern Warfare such a "great" game.
• What is IW's response to Modern Warfare 2 dedicated server petition?
If you combine the above two IW response together, IW is saying to MW2 PC Gamers: The game has become so great because we worked hard with pc gaming community, and now that we can take care ourselves we don't need you anymore."

• So why can't we have both dedicated and matchmaking co-exist?
IW is like them communists. We can't have rich and poor people in the same room so lets take away all the rich people's "extra" money so everyone in the room can all have equal amounts of wealth. Wtf..?

If you had a chance to finish reading their Dedicated Server Petition response, IW is basically calling majority of their current PC platform customers(you) cheaters, pirates, money hungry server hosts, and unimportant pc gamers. If you agree with the above IW accusations, support a game that backstabs the people that made them possible, and buying a game with less options than its predecessor then go knock yourself out.

I remember watching that video before it came out. It's sad to see their attitude and enthusiasm back then compared to now.

So true. we're comparing a game company to communists? doesn't this fall under that internet "law" about comparing stuff to Hitler?

For you guys boycotting this game for whatever reason, you're really missing out on an absolutely amazing game. I'm having an absolute blast with it.

My copy won't arrive until next week, but I'm on comms with my clan mates who are playing it right now. Initial feedback was that it sucks and they were pissed about no dedicated servers. Now that they've given it a chance they're starting to like it. They friended up on steam and it put them into the same game on the same team. One guy grabbed a riot shield and the other guy covered his six and popped out the side and smoked guys as they advanced. Sounded pretty fun. Everyone give it a shot.

How so? SP? MP? ??

I only play multiplayer and pretty much only like big servers which makes this game is a non starter for me. Plus I don't really care about the games. I pretty much only buy new games because people stop playing the old ones and I want the new maps. (Which is why it drives me insane when I buy a new version of a game and they include updated versions of the old maps. I was sick of em in the last game why would I want to see them in a new one. Bah.)

Anywho, just curious as to why it is an absolute blast.

Well, I got it delivered today via Amazon's release date delivery, and since I had the day off work anyway I've been playing it for awhile, and I really like it. I'm not generally into MP anyway so I was getting it for the single player experience regardless, and so far so good on that front.

Also, for those complaining about the price, I got it for $51 + $20 credit on Amazon.com . There were other similar deals out there, so its not like you HAVE to pay $60 on it.

and you don't have to like it when someone sodomizes you.

but we'll try not to judge you.

Yes get the game. It's fun! I seriously don't have a clue what all the fuss is about. Got MW2 instead of L4D2. I'm enjoying both SP and MP.

Errr...you can't sell it. It gets tied to your Steam account. Unless you plan on selling your Steam account.

An excellent reason to create a new steam account with every new steam game...

Can you do that? Not that it's kosher, but I thought once it's linked it's linked. LIke if you have 10 games on your current Steam - can you buy this one without it somehow getting linked to all of your current games? I didn't think that could be done.

Yes... once it's linked it's linked, and that's why you create OTHER ACCOUNTS for these games. You have a different login and password for each different game (you won't have multiple games in your list) and if you want to sell then you have to sell that whole login... ie giving somebody else the username/password so they can change it and have access to that game themselves.

But doesn't steam automatically link to all games that are already installed on your computer? I.e. I've got a bunch of games already installed, not tied to steam (b/c I don't have that crap) but if I install MW2 I'll only want to tie stupid steam to MW2 and not all my other games. Is that possible?

Why do you think Steam reaches out and sucks in all your non-Steam games?

I'm not sure - I'm asking the question if it does or not. I don't want my steam account to link to games unless I tell it to.

I was going to buy this game because i loved COD:MW, but after remembering the number of hours i spent playing it, i think i'm going to just play it at a friend's house. I liked the SP missions more than the MP anyway.

I played this last night, and I have to while the game is great the matchmaking system totally sucks ass. Every game I got into had a few people on each side lagging really badly (1 or 2 red bars, can't even tell ping anymore...lol) and I was routinely disconnected during the matchmaking process or as a host quit right before the game starts. Also, WTF is with no chatting in the lobby unless you have a mic, this has got to be one of the stupidest moves I have ever seen.

My short review of the new MP system is that the actual game itself is the same great game but the matchmaking system really sucks ass. There are some huge flaws in it, and it's sad that IW tells us this is somehow an improvement, they just directly ported the system from console.
