Should Biden agree to debate Trump?

It was readily apparent who Trump was in 2016 and yet he still managed to win. “Not Trump” is not enough.

Trump had no record to run on in 2016. No coronavirus. No failed economy. No shitty handling of race relations which he is getting panned for in the polls.

What was "apparent" about Trump in 2016 was still enough that he lost the popular vote. Now, it's more than enough for him to lose the EC.

I’m not so sure about this, I think Biden will win the popular vote by a historic margin but lose the EC vote.

So you believe the PV polling but not the state by state polling? Because both forms of polling are showing Biden with a commanding lead.

Pretty much. Trump is in deep shit in swing states he barely won in 2016 & some states where he won handily. Arizona. Wisconsin. Michigan. Pennsylvania. Florida. N Carolina. He might lose Georgia & even fucking Texas.

Mmmm, we will see. I heard very similar talk in 2016. Never underestimate mud hut dwellers.

I just don't trust polling, as we saw in 2016 it was not a very good predictor. Something has changed and I am not sure polling has caught up.

Yes, he should. There should always be debates. Gives Americans a real view on how they handle themselves, and are questioned without being 100% scripted. If he wants to win, then no he shouldnt. Its plainly clear that Biden wont actually be President if he wins, whoever is the VP will. Its sad when you see once sharp people get older, and decline like he has. I feel bad for him, its embarrassing. He is a shadow of his former self.

Speaking of his VP, what other job in American can someone openly confess to discriminating? Saying he is going to pick a female week ago, without interviewing any males is clear discrimination. If that was someone head of any normal company who claimed that his #2 was going to be a male, and females need not apply all hell would break loose. Nice to see that laws can be overlooked when it fits them.

It is not a job interview, Biden is not the President.

Every election is unique. This one is quite obviously very different from the last. Even Trump isn't the same, at least not his image. The man lost his Mojo. He's failed us spectacularly. I figure lots of people who were willing to take a chance on Trump won't do it again.

Speaking of embarrassing ... great, another shit and run retarded Ackmed post. How about that “settled science” about kids going back to school that you claimed existed and never came back to defend? Do you ever tire of being wrong about literally everything?

I don’t expect Trump to win, nor should he. There are a few wild cards that could close the gap. There seems to be a lot of backroom dealings and emotion around who gets the VP slot. I personally know enough 2nd wave feminist Hillary supporters who will sour if Warren doesn’t get the slot. Ginsburg’s health could come into play. Biden could flop in a debate.

Yes, Trump has to stand on his record, which is abysmal, and his path to reelection is incredibly narrow...but that’s what the experts said in 2016 as well.

Hey maybe I'm wrong, I'm saying I won't trust polls again until they get it right.

Episodic troll needs attention?

It needs to be a long form debate, on a public broadcasting network, not some corporate phony baloney gig.

Let them both explain in details their universal healthcare plans, their worker rights plans, and their way to solve the problems of poverty and homelessness.

I also want to hear their plans to fully deal with the environment and how to guarantee that every worker has a living wage, regular hours, and a secure safety net.

its best if we also include some level of fact checking, maybe a loud buzzer that goes off to call them on their BS.

This socialist utopia you just described is never gonna happen in this capitalist country. Perhaps you should seek residence where they provide the things you desire. That's way too much government involvement and I and many others would revolt. Then people wonder why some of us vote the way we do. To protect against these things.

If Biden won't debate Trump, he does not have enough balls to be POTUS.

We're not in 2016 anymore, Toto. I mean, WTF do you think, that your second wave feminist Hillary supporters will stay home & pout when Biden picks any woman as his running mate? Hardly.

To quote Joe Biden on the subject- "I can hardly wait." I figure Trump will back out if there's no live audience. Under the circumstances, it would be entirely reasonable & desirable to have the whole thing done remotely. It's unlikely he'll agree to that.

Man you are a real crock of shit to complain about Biden not interviewing men for VP when Trump refuse to admit black people in his apartment buildings. You were never concerned about discrimination before so don't start now.

Its not even a job interview, this is essentially a Partnership. Nobody is saying you have to interview Men, Women, Xi, Xe, Xm, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic or whatever to form a business partnership or Marriage Partnership.
Typical deplorable speak, HAHA! Fuck You Libs look at this!

Biden, even with all his quirks and gaffes understands government, he understands world affairs and policy and he understands "things"
Biden, being an adult who also has a long career as an elected official, preps in away to provide clear responses to the responses. Being "Biden", along with his old school delivery he occasionally screws up. We all sit around and laugh and mock him. Plenty of ammo for his opponents.
However, the guy knows his stuff
Imagine Trump participating in these discussions. It's not hard. You know EXACTLY what Trump would talk about

Prior to him running for president..

trump wouldn't be able to put together a coherent answer to any of those questions...

here's an idea - independently interview each candidate on the same day, with the same set of questions, then put the two recordings together and televise the "debate" - neither candidate can shout at or interrupt the other because they are merely side-by-side interviews. trump would look like an absolute fool next to biden.
