Don Jr. is on twitter retweeting sentiment that today's shooting is a consequence of "NY elites glorifying the assassination of the president".

I seem to recall his father explicitly suggesting that Hillary should be left without protection and assassinated.

It does seem that he asked if the group was Republicans or Democrats. The asking indicates an interest in who he was shooting.

I suppose we'll find out.

I wouldn't put much faith in this-

South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan told CNBC that he left the practice early and said he believes he spoke briefly to the gunman before the shooting began. That man asked Duncan whether the people on the field were Democrats or Republicans.

He wasn't even there at the time of the shooting. He might just be making lemonade from lemons, ya know?

Is that the one who said Democrats aren't even people? Or was that Uday?

I guess it's inevitable that some people will choose to take a partisan stance concerning this horrible situation and it appears the shooter is a Democrat stating the ruin of democracy but geezuz wtf! Human beings were shot and shot at. You don't have to have compassion I suppose but what about decency? Empathy? Rise above ugly pettiness... at least in this.

I am glad he is not dead, in stable condition, and that risk to his life seems to be below what he voted to inflict on tens of thousands of people with pre-existing conditions.
Launching a micro-violin concerto for his hurt butt. Fortunately he has a spare one attached to his neck.

Apparently Trump jr can't.

People pick and choose when they want to be concerned about something. Just because it makes it on the news and it happens in your country, or even in your own planet, doesn't necessarily make it "real" to the observer. You have to actively choose to make it real. What flips that switch is a lot of different things. When it involves children or animals, it is a lot more likely to cause people to care regardless of proximity.

I can't begrudge them of that fact because it takes a lot of effort to care about an entire country's worth of problems. It is exhausting, so people are allowed to take breaks every once in a while.

Stay classy...

I'm still not convinced the ID is correct. Duncan described the man he talked to as wearing jogging shorts while the shooter was described as wearing jeans.

I don't give a shit if these losers are GOP supporters, Democrats, Christians, Muslims, atheists or believe (as I do) in his Noodly Appendages. They generally are sick people that don't know how to deal with things they hate or don't understand. All the rest is just window dressing.

If you react differently to these events based on the backgrounds of the victim and/or the backgrounds of the shooter(s)--you're a moronic hypocrite.

At the least, these types of threads give my ignore finger a workout.

I have personally held the belief that people are just not equipped to deal with the constant bombardment of social media and 24/7 news cycle. This guy in a sense is a victim.

I do not follow news or politics. I ask myself, how has my life changed since November 2016? It hasn't. If you ask somebody constantly viewing the news and staying up to date on current affairs, you see that often times they are miserable, just look at Kathy Griffin, or however many republican posters on this board going on about Obama for the previous 8 years. It changes our lives very little, but the exposure that this stuff is given allows it to dominate our consciousness and it just isn't healthy.

That was my point...mainstream media and Democrats in Congress are all pretty solemn and unified about this action...the alt-right is trying to politicize this immediately.

Someone explain why InfoWars is claiming this was a "media-inspired" attack? Let me guess...because the media covers mass shootings, as opposed to outright denying that they even happened??
Someone in this thread said it seemed like the shooter had watched a recent episode of “House of Cards.”

That was me! :\

(not a recent episode--just that Frank Underwood began his crusade of tyranny from his position as the majority whip; perhaps this nutbag thought he was preventing such a fictional rise by going after a RL majority whip. Again, because lunatic)
