Reminds me of the guy who slit 3 throats on the Portland MAX train. All the right wingers tried to claim he was a Bernie supporter until the videos came out of him marching with the alt-right white supremacist group Patriot Prayer.
But hey, that's what happens when your entire freaking ideology and worldview are based upon tribalistic overgeneralizations. When you can't find a way to rationalize how someone in your own "tribe" can commit a heinous act like murder, you make up a story to put them in the other "tribe."

I wouldn't be surprised to hear this guy was taking meds that carry warning labels that this drug can cause violent psychotic episodes in a non-trivial portion of those who use it.

You percentage is way off but that's not why your suggestion is illogical. It is illogical because it assumes that banning gun ownership by white males will magically remove all guns from white males. Unless this magic occurs, your expected reduction in gun deaths cannot logically follow from your solution.

I didn't even do a real search and by my last link this isn't even the first time in Jacksonville's history that video games have been a point of dispute for a killing... my guess is about once per year someone decides to shoot someone else over a video game.

I know at least once a year family members shoot each other over the results of various college football games.
 
Kid looked like a nut job. With that bowl haircut. I'm surprised no one saw the warning signs.

It's a shame and a tragedy what happened.

My suspicion is gun ownership tends to correlate with certain political views and party affiliations which in turn correlate with race. We should also remember that by default the US is majority white so you have to control a bit for the baseline population differences to draw perfectly accurate inferences.
