eventually you won't grow hair on your face at all!

That is false, it will eventually grow back. Waxing works off the fact that hair grows in sets. You have 3 or 4 sets of hair follicles on your face, and they alternate between growing. It you let hair grow out and then wax it you get all of the follicles and it will take a while for your skin to regrow the hair. When it does only one set will grow at a time, making it feel like the hair is lighter.
If you did not let your hair grow long enough you will not get all the follicles and you will have to redo the waxing in one to two weeks, and then probably two weeks after that, until you have gotten all the follicles. Then you will have a longer time between growth.

Well I dont mean its always painful, the time wasted each year doing it IS.
How many productive things can you get done in 3 minutes, besides having sex.

Shaving is a part of life, just like pooping.

Damn. I get those disposable Gillette razors that come in a 10 pack for like $2. I'll make one of those things last for like a month and a half. Flaw in that system is that when I get lazy/busy and don't shave for like a week, it hurts like a mofo.

Haha...

You probably have sensitive/soft skin man. It's not the type of razor, shaving cream/gel, aftershave that you use, it's just that you have sensitive skin.

I've been seriously shaving since 15 years old (so for the past 9 years), I couldn't shave everyday even if I wanted to (I don't, I like the day-after stubble). I go every other day and I still get slight irritation...for me, every three days seems just.

Just go with it...you could probably try to find something that toughens your skin up...but why? A sensitive-skin shaving gel does help...I use Nivea For Men, and it seems to be the best...but I'll never be able to shave daily...I've tried...my entire neck gets irritated.

Don't shave against the grain if it hurts. I have to shave every day (or every other day for the rugged look one day and the smooth look the next). I find if I shave against the grain I experience a day or so of pain. I'm sure if I forced myself to shave against the grain everytime my face would get used to it but I really have no reason to do that. Although I have found that those days when I shave against the grain I can wait an extra day or two before having to shave again. Not worth the trade off IMO. Besides I usually sport a goatee and shave the rest of my face every other day.

.... I use dull ass razors and cold water to shave and I've never had a problem unless I let my facial hair grow out too much.

I hate shaving because of the time it takes, I'm an out the shower out the door kinda guy. My morning ritual consists of brushing teeth, showering, drying, washing face (again) and dressing. Shaving adds another 5 or 10 minutes I dont need.

LOL, there was an ad on Detroit Radio statins a few years ago plugging laser hair removal. The announcer says, "Men, wouldn't you like to gain back that HOUR a day you spend shaving?"

The first time I heard it, I thought, "I must have misunderstood!" Then the next morning, one of the morning shows played it and the two hosts started laughing about it, and called the place up and asked them on the air, "What are they doing for the other 55+ minutes?" The woman on the phone tried and tried to convince them that they must spend an hour a day shaving, it was pretty funny.

I have a beard that eats razor blades like raisinets, and if it takes me more than 5 minutes, I'm falling asleep halfway through..

for me razor + water = no irritation. I don't think I've ever cut myself shaving.

Funny thing is and electric razor is more irritating to my skin than a normal blade.

lathering the cream is very important. make sure you go in circles up towards the top of your head. helps to lift the hair from your face. fill the sink with pure hot water, and rinse the blade many, many times. change the blade every 5 shaves or so, depending on the time between shaves.

btw, real men use straight razors.

edit: also, dont use too much cream. creates a layer between your face and the razor.

I just wash my face, put on shaving cream, shave with the grain with my mach 3, apply another thin layer of shaving cream and go against the grain. I don't find that I even have to replace blades that often...maybe my facial hair is thinner than other peoples'?

Yup. Or you have a extremely low tolerance for pain.

**EDIT**
I have been using the same Mach 3 Razor for 2 years now. ;)

I think I should get another one.

I just want to say that if I could go back to being the baldfaced child I used to be I'd have 5-10 extra minutes every morning to freaking relax.

shaving cream FTW.. makes my shave a lot less irritating (sensitive skin = breakouts :()

I would think that you guys would be smarter than this, but for some reason you imagine that if it doesn't hurt you to shave, then it doesn't hurt anyone. Count yourselves fortunate, if ignorant.
