About 950 people voted in Meagher in 2004. 700 for Bush, 250 for Kerry. And Burns isn't nearly as popular as Bush was in MT in 2004.
So stick a fork in this one, it's done.
Any updates? It looks like there won't be a recount either, there has to be <.25% difference of total votes, not sure if that means it would include the Lib votes as well. With Lib vote, it's around .85% and without it's .40%. I think the Dem's will pull off the upset.

One stupid county left. Let's go Meagher. I could have counted their votes by hand by now.

Someone screwed up in Yellowstone County and the ballots are being recounted by hand.

I've got this theory that the further away from NYC you get, the slower things become... they just need to send me and two of my friends to MO and we'll get those votes counted and sorted out in half an hour :p I'm tired of waiting for these slow pokes... don't they understand that there's gloating and internet grandstanding to do? jk

Tester is speaking on CNN. He just declared victory.

Up 3,xxx votes, with only 8xx uncounted. Insurmountable margin for Burns.

Done deal. Tester will declare victory in a few minutes :D

Tester declared Victory but Chickensh!t Republican won't concede:

11-8-2006 Republican senator won't concede in Montana

"Jon Tester ran a good race and has the lead right now, but it is extremely close," Burns said in a statement. "There are still votes out there that deserve to be counted."

"I believe we need to continue to let that process play itself out and there is no need to rush to a conclusion when the votes are this close."

A recount would be allowed if the margin of victory in the official Montana tally is 0.5 percent or less of votes cast -- a possibility given the tight contest.

Tester said he had not heard from Burns and did not know if the Republican would push for a recount.

Why is he a chicken compared to the recounts people wanted during certain other elections in the past? You cannot have it both ways. :p

Great. If he doesn't win, is he ever going to tell anyone about Bush's super secret Iraq plan that nobody knows about?
