Wealth equality will never be allowed to happen..ever. It's a loser's dream is all.

I don't think anyone advocates for 100% wealth equality. Less inequality is the motivator.

dont buy into it, it's the narrative spun by the American propoganda machine, they've just ramped it up because we are so close to election time... American's need "something to get behind," something to "feel patriotic," about....

after the election it will calm back down and be business as usual again.

It's the insurgency of the Plutocracy, an effort to free themselves of responsibility to any nation including this one.

Elon Musk is building his space ship to leave us plebs behind as we eventually choke on our industrial waste. Only the rich survive.

Not looking for equality. Looking for less inequality. The ideal wealth distribution is not CEO Bob making 72 Trillion a year and the rest of us living on $2 a day.

imagine if you can that there was no national news networks, imagine for a second that the internet didn't exist.... and realize, how these tools are used by the American government to shape and sway political ideology...

that's what this really is. the propoganda machine is incredibly powerful.

Then why Tesla electric cars, Tesla batteries and Solar City solar panels. I think he wants to save the planet and the human race.

OTOH, we can't allow very few people to have the wealth to challenge the inherent rights of the Government of the People or to warp it to serve their purposes more than those of the people.

That is, of course, exactly what's been coming to a head for decades. We need very badly to assert the authority of democracy to forge a new New Deal, one where capitalism is harnessed to better serve all Americans. So we have to offer a choice- Jobs or taxes or some combination of the two, but we can't afford to allow current concentration of wealth & power to keep growing. It will destroy democracy, render it meaningless. The fortunes of the financial elite must be bound much more tightly to the fortunes of middle America. If we're going down, it's only right that they should come along with the rest of us.

so true. what we're beginning to have here is a small group of wealthy individuals who control everything, and broadcast the illusion of a democracy on the peasants...

like in most middle eastern countries where it was such a big deal to get people to come out and vote, and the people saying that they've never even thought of voting because, it's just not something that matters in their countries, election day would pass and one candidate would win in a landslide with something like 85 percent of the votes, and the people just understood that it was all for show...

that's what we'll have here soon. except we have the two party illusion system here..you can "vote," either way, but it really doesn't matter who gets elected, because every "issue," is completely fabricated by those in power.

Tedious "they're all the same! They're just as bad!" bullshit of defeatism.

What's pretty amazing is the lengths of disingenuousness Trump has made otherwise honest people go to excuse his lies. While you are consciously attempting to play the shell game and focus only on him not even knowing the country called Afghanistan, most people with integrity will continue to pay attention to the important part and press him on why he lied and said he wasn't born in NY, NY, USA just like he was...

“The killer, whose name I will not use or ever say, was born in Afghan..."

There is no confusing his intent...
To me him saying "afghan" tells me he stopped mid stream because he knew he messed up but I'm not insane with Trump conspiracy theories like you apparently are.

Vote for Johnson. Get L's over 5%! Start the process of more parties and change might follow.

And he quickly issued a correction right then and there so the facts were clear to his audience?

I'm not sure that buckshot believes that clarity is the responsibility of a communicator.

Vague and obfuscating are good enough to hide in, so long as you cannot be pinned down to any actual ideas, goals, or beliefs.

As always, this reminds me that The Paranoid Style in American Politics deserves a good read. I believe it is most prevalent in the extreme right, but it is not exclusive to it. Americans are just kind of nuts that way.

Yup, one of my all time favorite essays on American politics.

One of the reasons Hofstadter's essay focuses mainly on the right is because it came at the heals of the McCarthy era. This was before the JFK ct's which emanated mainly from the left.

IIRC he focuses a lot on paranoia related to nativism dating way back to the early 19th century. Clearly his essay remains quite relevant today.

Again, you continue to willfully ignore the fact he was trying to tell his low information supporters he was not born in the USA and continue to divert to the word "Afgan" as if that is what is important. You make a much better window than you do a door. Your act is 100% transparent and have reserved your well deserved spot in plonksville. Not worth anyone's time... See you in reruns.

How is that a fact? Because you say so? Do you think Obama is a Muslim for talking about his "Muslim faith"? Afghan isn't a country and you can bet that isn't what it said on his teleprompter. He made other flubs during that speech too. Was he pushing a message to us "low information voters" by making those mistakes?

Trump has made many of you insane. Have you noticed the chem trails he's putting out from his plane? That is the real travesty and his plan to divert attention away from his devious plan to poison us has slipped right under your nose. What a dupe you are.

Another mistake or flub rationalization by buckshot. They certainly seem to be piling up from this nominee. Seems a bit clumsy to be president.

LOL good luck with that. Most of the truly wealthy's assets are already firmly outside of US jurisdiction. It's easier to move money and holdings to different tax jurisdictions than at any time in history, as well. They'll always be a bag full of accounting tricks and loopholes written into the world's various tax codes to enable capital to flow to the least aggressively taxed economies. Trying to explain this to somebody with a folksy understanding of how capital works is pretty much an exercise in futility, however.
