Secret Service looking into Ted Nugent's violent anti-Obama rant

Boy it would be nice if this lunatic got in some serious trouble over this. He's been shooting his mouth off with violent rhetoric since the 2008 Democratic primaries where he insinuated he'd like to shoot Hillary and Obama with his shotgun. He's dangerous because as batshit crazy and fucktard stupid he is, some people actually listen to him. Some very stupid, close minded, and hateful people, but still some people. He basically just threatened a violent act against the President, which is enough to get him some prison time. And he's talking to the NRA, a group that has been going off the deep end lately itself.

Yup... I mean if you or I said I wanted to kill someone it wouldn't matter much because we have no 10K 20K or XXXK of Fan Base people that might just hear Teds message and do it for him out of respect. So... I think if your got ton's of followers like Rush for example you better not be shooting your mouth off and telling people your gonna kill someone... I think he needs to be made an example of so this crap doesn't go on. Obama already get's plenty attention and hate mail as it is. He doesn't need more of it.

If Ted hates America so much he should pack up his shit and move out of the country. Like it or Leave it.

You know... How come it's always the "R's" that are bat shit crazy????? Religious nuts are whacked!!!

Ted's subliminal message to those he spoke at, sponsored and promoted by the NRA: "Buy guns! Buy more guns! The sky is falling! Obama the Ogre and #1 gun hater is coming to take your guns away! Hide your women and children! The One who is not one of us true American Patriots is coming to destroy our lives, so protect yourselves by arming yourselves! Buy more guns!"

The NRA top dogs must be laughing their asses off at how their scare tactics drum up so much sales. It simply works every time on those who can't have enough guns and the NRA provides them with all the fear and hate they could ever ask for to keep them buying and buying and buying. LOL

Republicans are really deranged this election cycle.

You know, all the other retarded shit the teapublicans have been doing aside, this kind of hateful, disrespectful invective (and the agreement or silence of many on the right over it) really paints an unflattering, almost comical portrait of the crowd who howled bloody murder over the Dixie Chicks mentioning their shame that Bush was from Texas.

The degree to which many on the right have embraced double standards over politics just sickens me. I really don't remember it being this bad pre-GWB. Being deliberately obtuse and patently dishonest seems to be the new norm. The left has it's issues and people we can poke at, sure, but at least they act like they have a modicum of dignity and sanity.

1. Obama is not pro-gun, and in fact has an anti-gun history extending into his presidency.

President Obama's not so anti-gun that he would veto a bill that had as an element legalizing the carry of firearms into national parks. Before his Presidency carrying a firearm in a national park wasn't legal. Now it is.

Talk about your basic loser has been. The one and only song I ever liked of his was Journey to the Center of Your Mind.

Anything since Cat Scratch Fever? Crickets.

You're either turning a blind eye or intentionally ignoring the hate that spews from the left. It's been documented here many times - no sense rehashing it.

It's almost comical the way the left takes some comments by a former rocker so seriously.

Joe Pags Talks To Ted Nugent About His SHOCKING AND VIOLENT COMMENTS

Here’s what Ted Nugent said recently that has liberals’ minds totally BLOWN: “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

They are convinced, because they’re morons, that this means Ted Nugent is planning to assassinate Obama. That’s what they think he said right there. I read that quote and thought that Ted was trying to get across how dangerous of a man Obama is to this country, and was suggesting that if Obama’s allowed to continue his wack policies unchecked, lives will be ruined. We’ll all be ruined.

But liberals are all, “HE IS THREATENING TO KILL THE PRESIDENT OMG.”
It never ceases to amaze me just how brain-dead some liberals can be. They have absolutely no ability to understand figurative language, which is what Joe Pags talks to Ted about here:

The problem with crying wolf all the time is that eventually you get ignored.

The question is who brought the statement to the Secret Service's attention. I wouldn't be surprised if the Secret Service does have a communications department that looks at what people are saying and flag certain language for attention regardless of how sarcastic the statement was.

Agreed, but it does not help when Obama called half the country his enemy (referring to republicans when he told Latinos to punish his/their enemies).

The DNC is not filled with republicans...yet is just as crazy.

I was just saying the same thing about Billy Joel the other day...when was the last time he came up with a good song? 🙄

Just another crazy chickenhawk. If he is into protecting freedom so much why did he bend over backwards to avoid serving in Vietnam? He pissed pants at the thought of going.

Another right wing loudmouth with a gun who is a big pussy. He wouldn't be hunting either if deer could shoot back.

And you wouldn't be eating hamburgers if cows could shoot back. Derp derp derp derp! 🙄

Not at all, I even made mention of the left in my post, I didn't go into detail as this thread is about Ted Nugent. The difference I see is that when it comes from the left it's a nobody, someone trying to be edgy, or from the small vocal minority of true leftie nutters.
Not exactly the same thing when stupidity of this caliber comes from a famous person who is politically active and actually campaigns with politicians. He's not exactly irrelevant with the GOP. The term "wanna be Kingmaker" might apply to Ted, as he certainly seems to enjoy his position within conservatives circles as someone who's opinion matters.

No, it's comical the way the right takes some comments by a former rocker so seriously... If they didn't he would just another has been, content to live on the success of decades past in relative obscurity. He wouldn't be commanding cheering crowds at events and concerts, being a regular guest on mainstream news and radio, or being looked to as a gauge of conservative values.

Your lame blog doesn't prove anything either, other than teapublicans now adding "figurative language" to the list of their denial tools. Is that all you got? Seriously?

Ted Nugent is a horrible musician whose career, today, is mostly maintained by his own narcissism and his outrageous political statements. He is kind of the solo artist equivalent of KISS in that way.

As for these comments, I don't think he poses any real threat to the President, but the Secret Service can't allow statements like this to be made by a relatively high-visibility figure and not investigate them, lest the President end up with a broadhead arrow in his chest the day after the election. I think it's more about deterring others who might be emboldened by what Nugent said than Nugent himself.

Agreed, they have to investigate it, it is part of their job description. They will find no wrongdoing was done and it will end there.

That really isn't the purpose of an investigation like this. It's not as though there is any question what he said - he was videotaped. The investigation is more oriented toward determining whether he poses a danger, and toward reminding him that inciting others to violence is not constitutionally protected free speech and can lead to criminal prosecution. I heard something to the effect that he "clarified" his comments yesterday by saying, essentially, "That was not a threat against the President. I don't threaten - I just act." For obvious reasons I would think that would just add fuel to the Secret Service fire.

I am not saying, by the way, that anything Nugent said crosses the line into criminal speech - I just expect the Secret Service to remind him that such a line exists.

Very likely and probably no one had to report this statement to the secret service as boomerang suggested. They probably watch for statements like this regardless of the facetiousness or lack thereof on the part of the speaker.

Ted Nugent is just another has-been who has to do shit like this from time to time so that he doesn't fall completely out of the public eye. It's a way to generate attention; $$$.

Agreed, you said what I said. They will investiage, as they should, and they will find no wrongdoing and it will be over with.

If a sitting president can be shot and killed in a movie, then his mere words are insignificant.

Did you ever see the movie about the assassination of President Bush? It was the furthest thing from an anti-Bush film. He was portrayed in an entirely sympathetic way. It was produced in Britain, and really just a dramatic portrayal of what types of repercussions might flow from the assassination of a President. I actually thought it was quite well done.

Does not have to be anti-Bush to put the thought into people's minds that they should assassinate the President.

I did not see it, thought it was in poor taste to produce such a movie while he was still in office. If released after he was out of office I would have seen it.
