Looks like CDC chief's head is on the chopping block today. The whole fvck up with letting the infected nurse fly will probably be the nail in the coffin.

Congress ignores everything until there's a crisis. There may be continual cried for help to them which will be ignored, but once something hits the fan they are the first to blame everyone but themselves. Oh, they are the future guardians of your health care if some have their way. Good luck.

Obama is gonna announce this evening a Ebola Czar to head up the new Office of Ebola Management.

Another new Government entity, like Homeland security.

It's juts common sense, the most effective way to deal with govt fvckups is to load up with more idiots

Hopefully we don't have to find out but there has been some speculation that that rate is so high because the medical care in your typical Ebola outbreak areas is so abysmally poor.

For a few remote cases, the first-world will probably do better. If it hits full outbreak, there probably isn't enough grade-A treatment or equipment to go around, especially because trained and experienced caregivers are prime targets of the virus -- something like 300 medical workers in Africa dead?

First nurse is going to the NIH in Maryland, also a BSL-4 facility.

With regards to everything that happened at the hospital, this is the source of all the fuck-ups. Once identified as an Ebola patient, they need to be transferred ASAP.

every time some yahoo pulls crap like this he is rolling the dice.
permission not granted, put those dice back in your pocket and wear your gear.
taking stupid chances is stupid... and that newscaster talking about the "science of ebola" and a 3'=immunity from infection is just laughable.

people will saying that 3'=safe now after watching this. rofl.

People need to realize that protocol is stupid and inadequate. He dude was too close to a guy who can spread ebola by sneezing or breathing. The whole idea that you need this plains clothes guy to act as a spotter is stupid anyway.

Protocol is fine. Failing to follow protocol is bad though. That is how it has spread.

Sounds like they're moving her right across the street from where I go for my care... We need to put a stop to spreading ebola now. There should be no outbound traffic leaving Texas at this point unless it's to go to Mexico.

Yeah that makes sense... Let Mexico get infected. It's not like they make a habit of coming to the US or anything and often working in the food service industry.

Good. He probably lazily delegated everything to regional directors and we now have this clusterfuck in Texas.

He can't be everywhere. I've read up on this guy and he's probably one of the best and yes good enough. Of course that won't stop people from using him as a target. Here's a bit about him and an idiot congressman.

If we're doomed it's because politicians will take over a health care issue and screw things up.

Kind of like knowing you worked with an ebola patient then self monitoring yourself for an infection.... then deciding to take a two-week cruise while you wait it out.

Sure some of the blame can fall on the CDC.... but that healthcare worker who is now isolated on a cruise ship is an irresponsible turd.

Also the reason why there are so many large scale flu outbreaks in this country. Symptomatic people think nothing of going out in public and spewing flu goop everywhere.
