SEC - The premier dominant conference.

This is what over signing and allowing academic non-qualifiers will do for you. Shock.

thanks to Houston Nutt it's an SEC rule that you can't sign more than 28 each year (25 admitted and 3 probably sign and place). Also the SEC has an extra requirement about JUCO players that prevents many teams from going that route

The nation's strongest conference finished with three teams in the top 10, five in the first 15 and six in the Top 25, more than any other league. LSU was eighth, Alabama 10th, Arkansas 12th, Mississippi State 15th and South Carolina 22nd.

The SEC consistently has the most first round NFL draft picks, especially lately. Almost every ESPN announcer or columnist say the same thing. Get over it, SEC rules.

The ACC has been historically good and does trump the Big East before their expansion in 2005...
When you expand to comprise 25% of division 1 basketball, you're going to get a few teams in the tournament and some of them will win a couple of games. Get back to me if the Big East wins another championship... this looks like another ACC season.

So now you're using the expansion excuse? At least you agree that it's the best overall conference because of its massive size. But don't take it from me. Every major news outlet agrees. For example:

Big East looks like top dog entering league play

DURHAM, N.C. - The Big East can lay claim right now to being the best basketball conference in America.

As the conference season tips off around the country, it's hard to argue against the Big East.

The league has seven teams in the Top 25 poll and ended 2010 with five in the top 10. The Big East has earned eight NCAA tournament bids three times in five seasons and put five different teams in the Final Four in six years.

Big East conference, basketball's best

Many people like to sit back and analyze the best conferences in college basketball. It is always a fun discussion when media members and fans debate this topic.

When I break it down, I see the Big East as numero uno. Bob Knight and I recently agreed that from top to bottom, the Big East is very skilled and incredibly deep. You really have to lace 'em up every night in league play.
...
From top to bottom, the depth is unreal. I have not even mentioned Louisville, Cincinnati or Notre Dame. They are capable of being very dangerous, and even a team like Seton Hall has the potential to upset numerous teams.

The VBDI (Vitale Bald Dome Index) has come through. The number one conference in America is the Big East. Challenge me if you like. I respect your opinions and I will listen. But I firmly believe in the facts and John Marinatto's conference should be dancing with joy. It is the best; awesome, baby with a capital A!

I agree it's the biggest. Cobble enough teams together under one banner and some of them are bound to be above average.

After the ACC wins another championship you can console yourself that the Big East gets about half its teams into the tournament.

Just like every other major basketball conference.

Right, hide behind Duke again. Who else is in the top 25 this year besides Duke? Oh wait, none. ACC is sht this year.

I thought your coach was going to Michigan.

Just wanted to let you know that reports coming out of Baton Rouge right now that the deal is done and Les Miles is staying at LSU.

When you flame, try and flame with facts instead of rumors. That usually works out better.

It is a down season for the ACC. Enjoy it while you can; they'll be back.

Duke, Boston College, North Carolina, North Carolina State and probably one other qualifier to the tournament this season. The Big East will probably place eight or even nine teams in the tourney, but not a champion.

SEC has a home game at every bowl.
SEC attracts more talent due to warmer climate.
SEC signs twice as many prospects as other conferences, then cuts them before the season begins.

But yeah... SEC is definitely more dominant in football.
You're a fool if you argue otherwise.

Basketball... not so much.

We, in the SEC, will continue to bring home the biggest trophy every year whilst you chumps continue to try and pick us apart.

"We"? Who the hell is "we"? What team do you play for?

I'm a huge sports nut, but I draw the line at people taking it so seriously that they forget their team's/conference's performance is absolutely no reflection on them whatsoever, positive or negative.

I have a brother in law like you. Fucker never spent a day on campus, but lives and dies by the local college's football and hoops. I actually went there, and get pretty involved, but when the game's over, it's over.

No I am a Georgia Bulldog fan that lives in South Carolina.

You are not aN SEC fan so I know you don't understand. Anything. 🙂

hard to tell when you post stuff like this

I like SC Gamecocks, but I was rooting for Auburn when they played because Auburn had a shot at the BSC and USC Cocks did not.

and I went to UT so keep believing that I don't understand the SEC

So the SEC finished 5-5 in bowl games and Big East teams smacking down Kentucky, Kansas State, Southern Miss and Clemson? Preach on preacher.

While we defeated the C-USA champion, we lost to Birmingham, we deserved less than the Beef O' Brady Bowl and should be scorned for a few years...

Blah blah blaaaaaaaaaaaaah....

College conferences are nothing like NFL divisions. There's a level of pride with schools that goes beyond just sports. And when you play 70% of your games every year against that conference, the perceived strength of the conference has a large effect on the perceived strength of your team. In a sport where perception wins championships, that's important.

Only in the SEC. Honestly not many conferences care about the other teams in the conference. Being an FSU fan I could give a shit what the other schools do in their bowl games. It has no bearing on how FSU performs on the field. SEC fans are stupid with their pride of a conference. I couldnt believe when Arkansas lost they were actually chanting SEC. Pathetic.

Yep, a 5-5 bowl record with two ranked teams losing is shtty and their worst bowl record in 6 years when they were 3-3 in 2004/2005. In fact, their conference record has steadily declined since 2007 when they were 7-2 in bowls. 2008: 6-2. 2009: 6-4.

Huh, the computers think otherwise

I don't care if you put them in your fucking will and they're your sole beneficiary. Unless you were on the field, YOU != THEM

It's not hard to understand unless you're fucking delusional.
