Hey Oil... Crowton's out, I'm sure you knew that already though. Sources are saying they are going to go OUT of the program for a new OC.
What say you?

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to dominate in college football is to cheat or allow cheating. For every football scandal there are 100 scandals that were never uncovered. If you're bringing in the best of the best from around the country then your are really good at dangling something in front of the eyes of high schoolers besides tradition, academics, and those things that would pave their way into the NFL.
What is really sad is the way the media covers these different issues. There is a clear media bias in relation to how different conferences are covered. The bias is usually directly related to media contracts.
Look at how the entire Reggie Bush thing was handled. Yahoo! Sports pretty much pushed the story over and over again. The NCAA came to its finding based on the word of a convicted felon, a felon who was convicted of perjury. The claimed major rules violation was because of his parents.
Then we look at Ohio State. The players broke the rules and profited directly from their actions. The players were suspended but *shocker* they weren't suspended for their bowl game. In this case, instead of vilifying Ohio State/the players, outlets like Yahoo! pushed the story in terms of how unfair the NCAA rules are because they profit but the students cannot.
Finally we have Cam Newton. He stole a laptop, wrote his name on the stolen laptop, and threw the laptop out of his window when the popo showed up. He committed academic fraud at Florida and lied on his transfer applications. His dad solicited his son in exchange for money and "won big" in a boosters casino (right). When you turn on the national championship game, ESPN covers it like this kid overcame so much adversity. They treat him like a hero. They say that is father is staying away and didn't even attend the game - except for the fact that he was at the game. What was the repercussions from the NCAA? Nothing. How much of it do we see in the media? None.
Continuing to look at the coverage of the mNCG we see 2 SEC guys doing the half time show.
First, on the media bias in terms of coverage - the Cam Newton story was all over the news, more than any other sports story for at least a few weeks. Not sure why OSU's pretty blatant stuff hasn't received more coverage. They've admitted to violations. What is really sad is the way the media covers these different issues. Second, Cam Newton didn't steal a laptop.
He was in serious trouble @ UF. I don't think I've ever seen anyone deny that. You don't transfer from UF to a D2 school unless you HAVE to.
If he'd really been in trouble, he wouldn't have been able to transfer.
He was in possession of a stolen laptop, nobody denies that.
You're a USC fan right? You shouldn't be throwing stones at anyone.
Unless he lied.
Why is this so difficult?
The point of the one that said "titles by CURRENT conference membership" is, um, not to show where they were when they won the title. That's the point of the one above.
For example, see...Miami.
I find it absurd that people believe Reggie Bush received any benefits at all. Ridiculous! His parents were able to live in a home for free due to the kindness of strangers. Also, his girlfriend miraculously was given a Range Rover with which he drove it on only a 'few' occasions
It's ok, next year will FINALLY be our year...yea right! I've heard that line so many times that I just brush it off now, especially after this year's catastrophic beginning and end. I'll start believing it when I see a major coaching shakeup.
That said, I will concede that the SEC is the best FOOTBALL conference in the FBS. Every conference has its niche and role to play. The Big East aint shit in football but they're pretty damn good in basketball. The ACC is pretty shitty in football right now and pretty ok in basketball but does better in a lot of other sports not in the limelight and based off US News & Rankings numbers it's the best conference in the FBS academically.
it's b/c you expansion schools tainted our purity!!

Yea...VT needs to get their shit together with its sports. The move to the ACC didn't really do anything football wise because the conference went down the shitter, and all over our other teams are still playing catch up.
I don't like basketball and in the 5 years I was at VT I never attended a game.
Terrelle Pryor got pulled over by the cops 3 times last year all three times he was driving different new cars on loan to him while "his car was in the shop." All three times the cops let him go. When everyone is in on it, it's pretty hard to catch somebody....Then we look at Ohio State...
