Meh, you guys will want to go hit a bar as the eve goes on, and half of us are too young! :p

Actually, I was just remembering netmeets. The Sacramento netmeet was kinda awkward, and the Portland netmeet was fun. Enough of us know each other for conversation not to lag, so we'll have fun :)

Has there been any stories about social inept older men at these meets acting inappropriately towards the women? For example, has any of them ever playfully slapped the tush of a young lady and said, "Hiya toots! How's it going?" and then be admonished that this is inappropriate behavior?

We'll be at Pike Place Market. If any tush slapping happens, there will be an AMPLE amount of trout to grab and smack the living daylights out of the offender. Heck, if Russ comes he can just pull out his weapon and shoot the jerk.

Just an idea for you guys, I would recommend going to the Science Center or the Water Front. That way there would be more to do and it would be fun for all ages. I know it sounds kinda lame but it usually turns out to be a good time. There are some fun things to play with at the Science Center and the new exhibit is called Glow: Living lights
"Enter the world of bioluminescence, the light of living organisms! Produced by chemical reactions, this living light gives fireflies their flash and creates worlds of glowing life deep in the ocean."

The water front is also pretty cool, you could go to the aquarium, putter around all the little shops take a fiery ride somewhere. Check out the OK hotel, where grunge was born.

Just some ideas, I want you guys to have fun so you will do it again when I'm arround.

Well since I haven't been here for awhile now and this is my first visit back I'll have to skip this meeting because I have plans already but would be up for the next one you have planned later this Summer.

Although maybe I can swing by Russ's shop.

BTW, it's nice to see every one again. :)

Bah. I just got back from Coos Bay. If I knew where you lived, I might have stopped by on the way back today. :p Anyway, my truck's carburetor is in serious trouble. I won't be making any more long trips with it. I *almost* did not make it home. Frankly, I'm not sure how I did make it home, but I did.

Anyway, I can give you money for gas. Besides, we'll have lots to talk about; I'll bring my Bible along. ;) j/k

HEY I SAID JUST KIDDING.

:p

I won't be able to make it but if it goes good maybe there can be another one in a couple of months. I'm moving back to the northwest in August.
We'll do another in August or Sept. Zenmervolt's moving here and he just about killed me when he found out I didn't wait til he got here to organize this. :)
I could never kill you! You'd just use your Jedi mind tricks on me or something.

It doesn't smell anymore. There aren't bums on every corner asking you for money, or humming Soundgarden's "My Wave" loudly, then telling you how badass it is (I don't disagree, but that's not the point).

Streets are labelled in an easy manner, things are easy to find. Point Defiance Park is a few minutes away. And housing is cheap.

Fewer yuppies as well.

I wouldn't go that far. Last December, I was in Tacoma and man, if it's better than it used to be, I couldn't tell.

Oh man, I'm missing out on this. I'm about to migrate out there in early August. If anyone knows of any good 2br/1or2 bath apartments for a U. of Wash - grad student, PM me. Hope you have fun and I'll keep an eye out for the next meet.
