Sounds fine to me. I dunno if Ken's going to carpool with me or not and that's going to be the defining factor. Whether he wants to get up early enough to get up here in time to get up to Kent by 1pm.

Uhh that means I'd leave here at what. 2:00 AM? :Q

Actually I'm off Fridays, so I'd more than likely drive up to P town sometime Friday. :)

Got a camper shell on the Pick Up, so Brutus and I can crash there Friday night.

I wanna meet Brutus!!

Figures, she want's to meet my DOG and couldn't care less about ME.:(

I get that a lot! :shocked::roll:;)

You are going to love this place compared to ohio (used to live in Cincinnati). :)
Gah! I'm so sorry for you. Cinci is decidedly not the Ohio I'm used to. Rural boy from NW Ohio farmland. Cities suck. :p

Who all lives in Kent? I drive a minivan and it may end up being much cheaper to carpool.

Displaced Chicagoan... just started work in Seattle and I'm staying with my aunt in Bellevue right now. Looking for a place to live in Kent. Maybe I should show up to this meet for friendly advice?

Elektro, craigslist would probably be your best bet for temporary housing, whether shared, month to month leasing, or sublets.

I've been apartment-hunting for Zenmervolt to help him with his move. Whatcha looking for? I've visited several spots in Kent so I'm familiar with prices and apartments.

exactly, why on earth would you want to live in Kent? If you work in Seattle you should go north.

I'm in a bit of a tight spot. My fiancee and her kids were supposed to be coming here with me after the lease on our house in Chicago ran out at the end of June. I had a house picked out in Kent that we could afford... and then found out that instead of signing off on the change to visitation that he agreed upon, her ex-hub decided he wants to try and get joint custody. So now she can't leave Illinois until this is sorted out. Could be up to a year. She's going to stay with friends while that happens, but I can't afford to rent a house right now and try and support her in Chicago if necessary, as well.

Meanwhile, The entire contents of our house are being moved here at the end of the month. I guess I need to find an inexpensive one-bedroom apartment that I can rent month-to-month until this all gets straightened out. I've resigned myself to living with a verrry large pile of furniture and boxes until then.

Why Kent? It's in my price range, I can get to Downtown Seattle on the Sounder. Much like I used to take the commuter trains to Chicago from where I lived (about 30 miles north of Chi).

Check Des Moines too, it's roughly the same price range as Kent, and there are some nice apartments if you stay along Kent-Des Moines Rd and away from Pacific Hiway 99.

Apartments in Kent:
Chandler's Bay (anything managed by this company)
Waterford at the Lakes
Jonathan's Landing
Some of the places along James St. are okay.
