meanwhile in NYC, they get ready to deploy a Strategic Response Group to deal with terrorism.. and protestors..

http://nypost.com/2015/01/30/nypd-to-launch-a-beefed-up-counterterrorism-squad/

The Strategic Response Group, or SRG, will be devoted to “advanced disorder control and counterterrorism protection,”
“It will be equipped and trained in ways that our normal patrol officers are not,” Commissioner Bill Bratton said Thursday.
“It will be equipped with all the extra heavy protective gear, with the long rifles and the machine guns that are unfortunately sometimes necessary in these *instances.”
because like, every protester should be greeted by police with machine guns.

I'll take pepper spray over that any time.

here's another angle of Seattle..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ6s-U1dKuk

hard to notice the female cop incident (upper left), with the other guy getting sprayed at :24 and as he is trying to retreat, after being blinded by the spray, is sprayed again and then finally dragged away, swarmed by more cops then handcuffed.

I wonder if all of this stupidity was because if you look at the bottom right, you can see what appears to be a police officer down on the ground, possibly injured. while IMO not an excuse, it could explain why that female officer was so freaked out.

actually it is all the excuse they need.

looks like somebody took out that cop and that one guy kept wanting to fight him while he was on the ground. that got all the other cops riled up and the pepper spray flying.

Supposedly this is the same officer:

SPD is a bunch of assholes...there is a good reason they were under investigation. This is after all the same SPD that left a full auto AR-15 sit on the back of a cruiser, unattended.

Right at the 1 second mark, we already see the pepper spray is deployed and the woman yells "GET BACK". We know it is loud, because white girl turns and looks right at her. We know white girl is processing the visible cues, because she starts to side step away from the canister while looking at it. She is doing so...quite slowly...and then pauses...probably not sure what is going on, but feeling something is going on.

Also at about the end of the 1 second mark...the teacher sidesteps his way towards the police line and then begins to walk parallel with it. He is on his phone, looking away from the police. He does not show any clues that he is aware that pepper spray is about to be unleashed in his direction.

At about the 5 second mark, the police officer yells get back for the last time and unleashes a volley of pepper spray at those near her. It hits both the teacher and the white lady.

Right after the deployment, it appears everyone quickly gets away from her.

SO with this, we can probably assume that there was also a warning period prior to the start of the video, because she had to at least bring the pepper spray out and present it.

I saw zero threatening action toward the officer by the people she "defended" herself from. I don't know about your world but in my world ya gotta threaten someone, or be in reasonable fear for your safety, in order to defend yourself. I saw nothing that gave the officer reasonable fear for her, or anyone elses, safety.

If you can articulate exactly why she had reason to fear for her, or another persons, well being then I am all ears. Personally I don't think a reasonable person could possibly believe the escalation of force in that manner was justifiable given the footage. But by all means, please tell me why this officer might fear for her life by these seemingly calm and peaceful people walking within 6-8 feet of her while she is in a very defensible position and they are out in the open.

Her co-workers would have been pissed off honestly, 3/4 of that spray hit them in the face.

Anyway, if there is any lesson to be learned here, when police form a line in front of you and say GET BACK you should easily expect something negative to happen if you try to walk through them or behind them. I would prefer they stand their ground, and if it is CLEAR someone is trying to break or fuck with the line, they shove that bike into them and push them backwards.

Would you let someone...on your day to day activities, get this fucking close to you and talk-spit into your face? Fuck no. Get back a few feet! It is REASONABLE for you to not yell actually inside someone else's mouth. You want to protest against the "System" and yell anonymously at someone you've never met? Fine. Just be fucking human about it.

So were the people close to the bike line too close? Hard to say, honestly it didn't look like it, but keep in mind we are looking at a 14 second video clip. They looked composed except for her.

You wanna see about 300 videos of cops doing the same thing to civilians? Shit I bet I can pull 100 videos of cops doing that to normal folk for every one you can find of normal folk doing that to cops.

So is it reasonable that if I am being a rather reasonable human being that I not get pepper sprayed by a retarded cop who also pepper sprays her own dumbass self in the process? Or is some dumb bitch yelling at a cop in what appears to be an unrelated event grounds for all out chemical warfare against the serfs?

I'm just curious as to where us "sillyvians" (as the cops call us) stand?

I'm not surprised... We will see cases like that for many many years. It's very sad, but the only way to let policemen work more honest - is to reform all police system and judicial system. And of course provide more serious punishments for them!

That video is even worse. I mean, they hit the guy, he can't see, so they hit him again with the pepper spray only to then take him down?

Searched what I could for Seattle news papers and TV channels, no new news for several days. Guess it's because it's the weekend but was curious to see something about it. PD's response to it or a statement at a minimum. Nothing.
