what a wise and beautiful woman. Deserves to be fired for being one too.

It was a don't poke the bear type of a reference. The behavior of the protestors/onlookers is not a whole lot unlike oblivious people at a zoo, where they may tempt darwinism by reaching over the fence.

If a zookeeper says, "OK guys, lion coming through, please back away!" If a patron doesn't back away, is it the zookeepers fault, the lion's fault, or the patron's fault that the lion bites them?

Guy was walking by, minding his own business.

People walking down the street do not equate to tourist reaching into animal cages. Please tell me what this man did to "tempt fate"

Just another example of police abuse that happens every day.

Guy is just walking by talking on his cellphone, and the cop pepper-sprays him and another pedestrian....then the cop randomly is spraying it around her even when no one is near her.

Wonder what the excuse will be this time? Wonder if anything will happen to her?

She was probably tired of the gamergate thread here and was enraged at men.

Seriously though that is just messed up. No obvious reason for her reaction. But she should have a love child with that campus cop from California, they at least have pepper spraying people who aren't a threat in common.

Walking while black....it's a common complaint by racists.

Right at the 1 second mark, we already see the pepper spray is deployed and the woman yells "GET BACK". We know it is loud, because white girl turns and looks right at her. We know white girl is processing the visible cues, because she starts to side step away from the canister while looking at it. She is doing so...quite slowly...and then pauses...probably not sure what is going on, but feeling something is going on.

Also at about the end of the 1 second mark...the teacher sidesteps his way towards the police line and then begins to walk parallel with it. He is on his phone, looking away from the police. He does not show any clues that he is aware that pepper spray is about to be unleashed in his direction.

At about the 5 second mark, the police officer yells get back for the last time and unleashes a volley of pepper spray at those near her. It hits both the teacher and the white lady.

Right after the deployment, it appears everyone quickly gets away from her.

SO with this, we can probably assume that there was also a warning period prior to the start of the video, because she had to at least bring the pepper spray out and present it.

So....what did he do that equates to sticking his hand in a lion cage?

This officer should be placed on administrative duty, leave, terminated and/or arrested for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment without any provocation. Existence of the video makes this case a slam dunk.

Why would you use a don't poke the bear reference when nobody got poked? How did they tempt Darwinism by reaching over then fence when no such barrier was reached over? How is this now Darwinism and not brutally tyrannical behavior? By the way, when a bear at the zoo kills a person at the zoo (Darwin or not), it is put down.

It seems like your overall point is that these cops have no more self control or cognitive ability to be decent human beings than primal beasts do. Again, I'd have to say I agree with you.

Are you kidding. She is getting high-fives all around as the other officers watch the video and laugh at the people getting pepper-sprayed.

Sometimes I wonder if we need to just simplify our punishment system. I don't think she should be fired. I think she should be brought to the top of the stairs leading to city hall, a press conference called and then the mayor will just slap her fairly hard across the face and proclaim "I hope she learned her lesson!" and just be done with it.

Her co-workers would have been pissed off honestly, 3/4 of that spray hit them in the face.

Anyway, if there is any lesson to be learned here, when police form a line in front of you and say GET BACK you should easily expect something negative to happen if you try to walk through them or behind them. I would prefer they stand their ground, and if it is CLEAR someone is trying to break or fuck with the line, they shove that bike into them and push them backwards.

Would you let someone...on your day to day activities, get this fucking close to you and talk-spit into your face? Fuck no. Get back a few feet! It is REASONABLE for you to not yell actually inside someone else's mouth. You want to protest against the "System" and yell anonymously at someone you've never met? Fine. Just be fucking human about it.

So were the people close to the bike line too close? Hard to say, honestly it didn't look like it, but keep in mind we are looking at a 14 second video clip. They looked composed except for her.

WTF does your picture have to do with the video with the crazy bitch pepper spraying people not even near here and just walking around the police?

It doesn't have anything to do with it. It's nothing more than a Cop Logic® tactic: try to form a connection in people's minds between a very bad person doing bad things and an innocent person doing innocent things in order to make the innocent person seem to share things in common with the very bad person. Therefore the innocent person can be presumed to be bad, and therefore the bad things that cops do to the innocent person are moral and just and virtuous. It's retarded logical fallacy.

Are you sure? Seems to me, she fits right in :hmm:

Heh, I'll clarify: As cops are currently expected to be power-tripping assholes, yes she might actually be the perfect cop. However if cops actually followed that whole "protect and serve" theme, she should not be.
