Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks to me like the protesters were in the express lanes and not the main freeway. Which means the entire area could be closed off, unless someone were to deliberately drive around the gates by entering the freeway going the wrong way. But clearly it's the protesters' fault for 'irresponsibly' not considering that someone would want to intentionally run them over, as that's only happened 50+ times in the last month.If you've ever lived in Connecticut, there's signage all over the place that says "This road is legally closed" . That was back in the 80's when I lived there. Some kind of get out of jail card for the country or state. Not sure how it could ever legally stand up.
