That is pretty low to do to your dying wife.

That should also cross him off the AG list if Obama wins.

Well it's clearly a majorly dickish move, but Elizabeth has cancer, she isn't dying. She was on Colbert Report a few weeks ago lookin pretty good for a 60 year old, cancer or no.

Anyway, it's no worse than cheating on your wife who was seriously mangled in a car accident, and a lot of people don't even think that disqualifies you for the presidency.

Ah I'm disappointed. I had several other names in the pool before yours in whom would try to play the hack spinster.

Its actually a quite common Presidential disease. There were strong rumors about FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, and of course Bill Clinton. All of w3hich went on to have somewhat successful Presidencies and that is just a short list.

We could go back to Grover Cleveland's ma ma where is my Pa, gone to the white house hahaha. Which actually won over the republican Blaine Blaine James B. Blaine, the Continental liar from the State of Maine. And we may thereby maybe deduce that a corruption scandal is worse than a sex scandal. But somewhat academic since Edward is now unlikely to be on the ticket while recent GOP sex scandals seem to outnumber democratic ones by a wide margin, and worse yet, often involve non heterosexual partners.

But one thing is now missing in action, the reaction of Elizabeth Edwards, who may have known of the affair since 2006. For all we know, she may have somewhat given her blessing, given she was fighting her cancer during that time. I think I will reserve some judgment until Edwards wife weighs in.

But still, Edwards may have ended his political career with this sad affair, only time will tell.

Someone should host a drinking game for the Edward's speech and every time he says "wrong" you do a shot. "Love" you do a double. Drunk 45 seconds in.

John Edwards also exploited several corporate tax loopholes set up by the Clinton administration, then cried a few years later how the rich weren't paying enough in taxes.

CBS NEWS with Katie Couric, 9 months ago:

KATIE COURIC: Harry Truman said, ?A man not honorable in his marital relations is not usually honorable in any other.? Some people don?t feel comfortable supporting a candidate who has not remained faithful to his or her spouse. Can you understand their position?

SEN. JOHN EDWARDS: Of course. I mean, for a lot of Americans? including the family that I grew up with, I mean, it?s? it?s fundamental to? how you judge people and human character? whether you keep your word, whether you keep what is your ultimate word, which is that? you love? your spouse, and you?ll stay with them.

as a commie he should have just declared that the burgoise pledges of religion and state aren't binding on him and then he could have gone boinking with reckless abandon...

but we all knew he was a piece of shit long before this, now we just know that he's even a bigger piece of shit... no revelations in this...

He cheated on his wife. Making it a bigger deal because she has cancer is feigned indignation. Hillary didn't have cancer and folks made an even bigger deal. So who the hell cares if she has cancer or herpes, the fact is he cheated on his spouse. There is a lot of that going around these days. Let God sort out all the lying/cheating politicians when they die.

PS. this was posted a few weeks ago based on a story in the National Enquirer and most of you in here said it was fake. i was the only one who pointed out that the NE was normally correct in stories like this.

i was right bwhahahahaha

If Edwards is actually the father of the child, its foolish to deny it. Modern DNA tests are totally definitive on the issue, although if both potential parents don't want a DNA
test, I wonder if anyone would have court standing to force one. But I would think any organization with the bucks, could get a hair, saliva, or similar genetic marker on the sly from all three, and then publish the results.

There is no privacy anymore. Consensual sexual terrorism freaks people out. But is it permitted to have out of wedlock sex with a woman who is pregnant with another man's child? We must look for enlightenment on this matter from the religious right.

Well at least he has Newt Gingrich to get some advice from.

Cheating is one thing... but damn cheating on your wife when she is battling cancer.

Let's wind the clock back 9 years, Edwards on Clinton affair..

"I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen."

Wow, what a douchebag Edwards turned out to be!

Couldn't agree more. Cheatin' on your wife who's dying of cancer -- major douchebag of the year award right there.

Got compassion? Cheating on a terminally ill SO is more common than you might think. I'm not saying it's the best thing in the world to do, but it is certainly understandable.

Quoted for posterity, I doubt any of them will acknowledge it...

Craig234:
National Enquirer and Fox?

One of the most sleazy, reckless spreaders of lies, AND the National Enquirer too?

Bowfinger:
Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed the OP would stoop to presenting such tabloid reporting as noteworthy. I can only assume next week he'll regale us with tales of two-headed babies and space aliens infiltrating the CIA.

loki8481
pure baseless speculation.

LemonLaw:
Even if someone believes Edwards is having an affair, somewhat dubious given the evidence, lets put another idea on the table as a what if.

Some terminally ill spouses do encourage their partners to seek sexual solace with someone else because they know they can no longer provide that important role. And if this is the case with Edwards, it would not be a matter of cheating if his wife asked him to do it.

And to say again, I have no idea what the facts are here, but lets consider the entire universe of possibilities in this matter rather than buy into the OP's rather dubious contention that Edwards is cheating.

Harvey:
Sorry you're so quick to believe a story like this without corroboration from sources other than documented bullshitters.

The Enquirer and Faux are demonstrably non-credible sources.

While they turned out to be right here, I think skepticism of what is posted on Fox News and the National Enquirer is warranted.

How does McCain's cheating on his disfigured wife with a 25 year old escape your wrath?
