Even though I only have basic cable, I would like to see it go back to its ShowTime roots. Bring on the tig 'ol bitties! 😀
 
It would be odd if they do find another network. SG-1 on TNT or something ... idk and SGA on Sci-Fi. [sarcasm]That wouldn't confuse the once and a while watchers at all ...[/sarcasm]

It would be kind of like when Buffy and its spin-off Angel were on different channels. The downside is that crossovers are almost nil.
 
Good call. They should have ended it before the whole Ori thing anyway. Once O'neil left, the show was over.

I still watch it, just because, but it's 1/10th the show it used to be.
 
TV Executives don't realize their stupid decisions until they're shown the door.

SG1 franchise will be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to replace. What?....with more tremendously bad weekly movies?

Execs don't know the gold they have in their hands. Instead of trying to rejigger the show, they cancel one of the best series on television. Morons!
 
Crap. Sci-fi Friday is already down to 2hrs (Waiting for BSG in Oct)... I miss my 3hrs of Sci-Fi goodness.

I'm still 🙁 to hear that they are canceling SG-1, w/ the Ori storyline I thought they would have at least 2 more seasons left! If SG-1 does end at the end of this season, the Ori story line is gonna feel rushed. W/ Atlantis being picked up, maybe the team will go to Atlantis! Wishful thinking I know! 🙁
 
Someone please organize some sort of petition. We need to let the big wigs know that we want more sg-1 so that they don't cancel it!!

I really wanted the Farscape Ben Browder. Instead I got worthless, "Ben sucks at teh Stargate!"

SciFi needs more money to make more of those ZOMGGIANTMONSTERFISH!!!!!one movies.

If they need to cancel something, cancel Atlantis. That show is SO fricking dumb. I tried, I really tried to watch it, but every character was introduced to fill a cliche, checkbox role. Got the strong woman in charge, got the loose cannon male, got the sex kitten who also fills the alien character role, got the dorky science guy(s), added in the big angry guy. Now, let's have some horrible scripts!

If they have to keep Atlantis, at least stop paying for those god-awful made for SciFi movies. I bet 2 or 3 of those could pay for at least one episode of SG-1 (I can't imagine they cost that much to make).

And ECW? This is what people expect to see on the SciFi channel? Even if they figured out that geeks do in fact like wrestling, that's not SciFi. That's like Comedy Central airing a Country Music Hour because they find that some people who like humor also like country music.

One can only pray they come up with something good to replace it. And not the crap like Firefly, Lexx, or Farscape, which were all too cheesy and cheaply made to actually be good.

And I agree with the sentiment here, SG1 and SGA are two of the only decent original shows SciFi has left. Eureka sucks, BSG is a godsend and the rest of the schedule is crappy reruns and even more C(rappy) grade "SciFi" movies.

Although, I should credit them for realizing that ECW on SciFi was a mistake. Good riddance.
 
Eureka's not bad, except for every episode hinging on the evil underhanded doings of the psychiatrist/whore.

I just hope if someone picks it up it's one that is actually interested in making it better, and that can actually do it. And that it's someone on regular cable. I don't want to have to get digital cable service and set up a damn cable box and the IR Blaster from my PVR just to watch one show. That might be enough to make me just download it, and even paying 2 bucks per episode would be cheaper.
 
I have a question. I read somewhere that showtime demanded full frontal nudity, did SG1 producers bend to their will?
