"We do have plans," MGM spokesman Jeff Pryor told The Associated Press
The MGM spokesman's name is Jeff Pryor?
The Orii send out Pryors to spread their message?
MGM IS the Orii :Q
I was thinking the same. :Q

It is Prior, and guys name is Pryor.

Honestly, I think Ori=Islam (not trying to troll!)

If they need to cancel something, cancel Atlantis. That show is SO fricking dumb. I tried, I really tried to watch it, but every character was introduced to fill a cliche, checkbox role. Got the strong woman in charge, got the loose cannon male, got the sex kitten who also fills the alien character role, got the dorky science guy(s), added in the big angry guy. Now, let's have some horrible scripts!

ugh so true. though the show does have imo a great premise so I'll continue to watch it.

Well this won't be first season that SG-1 makers are showing their anti-religion views. But Ori dogma definitely has human flavor.

Bummer on the SG1 cancellation, but imho, it's to be expected. Richard Dean Anderson (RDA, or MacGuyver to those here that have less memory than I do! ) stopped his regular appearances because he finally became a daddy, and wanted to spend more quality time with his little girl. Can't blame him for that, but I do think it really started the downhill trend for the show.
I do like Beau Bridges, but don't feel he was the right person to take over the position of being in charge of the whole Stargate program. Sorry, but I remember him in far too many wishy-washy touchy-feely roles back during the 80's, and feel he's still too much of that sort of person to be a tough as nails career USAF general put in charge of what would be the single most important program in the air force. Sadly, his father, Lloyd Bridges, would be a better choice! What I did expect to see, originally, was for Jack to get into trouble, and get busted back to Col., and return to the team. So much for doing the whole "Star Trek movie Admiral Kirk gets busted back to Captain Kirk" trick!
Add to that the new leader of SG1, Ben Browder. Gee, could we have come up with a more wooden role for this guy to play? Compared to Jack O'Neil, this guy is like watching Pinocchio!! I'm sorry, but he had some huge shoes to fill, and just couldn't do it, either because of bad writing, bad acting, or bad production.......or a combination of all of them.

Atlantis.....I still can't stand that show. It just doesn't "do it" for me, and seems wholely out of whack with the stargate premise.

Let's remember, too, that some of these actors, while enjoying the weekly paychecks over the past 10 years, are likely more than ready to move on to (hopefully) bigger and better things. Remember, when an actor gets identified too closely with a character for too long a period, it's nearly impossible for them to work again afterward. Just look at most of the actors that played on MASH. Some of them decided to leave before the series ended, and a lot of them just couldn't get steady work afterwards. Gary Burghoff, who played Radar......anyone remember any other role he's played? How about Father Mulcahy? Or Hot Lips Hoolihan? Really, the only actors from that show that had any sort of steady employment afterwards were Alan Alda (Hawkeye) and David Ogden Steirs (Charles Emerson Winchester), that I can think of. Mike Farrell, who played BJ Hunnicut, is still "famous"......for that role, which he played 20 years ago, and has done nothing of any significance since then! Let's face it, long tv series can actually be a career killer! :(

I'm looking forward to BSG, I do enjoy watching Eureka (finally, a truly cerebral comedy for sci fi geeks! LOL), I've started watching "Dead like me" (but think it sucks that those are repeats of a cancelled show......I really like Ellen Muth!!), and think Ghosthunters and "Who wants to be a superhero" should have ended up on the cutting room floor, instead of on my tv set. Oh yeah, and let me echo other's feelings here, that ECW doesn't belong on SciFi!!

Okay, that having been said (I know, I'm longwinded), remember that a good grassroots campaign to bring back SG1 could be effective. Those of you that are old farts (like me) might remember that the network planned on killing the original Star Trek series after 2 seasons, but after receiving a howling protest from thousands of fans, brought it back for a third season. Sadly, it wasn't enough to give that series life after that, since the network brought it back in a sucky time slot, but that's not to say we couldn't be effective for bringing back SG1 for season 11 or more. Who's with me?? :D

Anyone have more info? I'm eagerly awaiting the 'anouncment' from MGM later this week eluded to in the article. It would be really cool to see it continue, but if SciFi finishes up the Ori arc, not planning on a continuation (or if they set it up for a movie, which would basically have the same result), then it would be hard to develop new material.
