Is that what the science says? There might be hints in the article as to whether that's what it says, you'd probably have to read it to find out.
The article says that the children are sleep deprived and that allowing the later classes will improve education. I suggested that maybe they should be going to bed earlier would accomplish the same thing ( in so many words ).
As many in here suggested that later start times for school is the answer and look down at the suggestion that earlier bed times would accomplish the same task without throwing parents under the bus trying to get the kids to school later when they have to be at work earlier.
Parents, teachers, cell phones in classes, kids with poor attitudes, in general the lax culture we have allowed to exist in schools.
No but later start times will cause later bed times and we will be back in the same boat again.
The article says they are sleep deprived. That isn't because they are getting up earlier... It is because they are not going to bed at a responsible time.
