As I said above, I don't believe it's anything more than him trying to cover his bases after he realized how the conversation read. I'm simply describing how it will be used, verbatim, by the POTUS and his ilk, and bought by a large party of the population
Yes it will be quoted over and over again, out of context of course. But the evidence that Trump was linking the two is mounting. Just yesterday GOP Senator Ron Johnson told the WSJ that the same Gordon Sondland told him that Trump was linking the two. After which he went to Trump directly, and Trump denied it to him. But when he asked if they could tell the Ukrainians that the aid was on its way, he wouldn't allow it. That comes from a GOP Senator. And it makes what Sondland said in that tweet a lie.
Also, let's not lose sight of the phone call. Hey, when are we getting those missiles? Well, I need a favor though...
