Yes, it is. Just because not everyone likes it and it's not common doesn't mean it's not a topping.

BTW, ricotta.

Well, anyone could say they put anything on pizza... I'd say if you can't find a pizza place that offers it as a topping, it doesn't count. Some people put disgusting crap on their pizza... it's an abomination.

Precisely. In fact i remember reading a thread here about some fools "topping" Pizza Hut pizzas with fecal matter. It doesnt start with an "r" but its a topping nonetheless.

Chicken Ranch
Our herb-seasoned chicken, bacon, Roma tomatoes, onion, garlic, mozzarella and cheddar on ranch dressing.

It does exist.

If it can be put on a pizza, it is a pizza topping. Rats could count. I mean, why not? Some people put dead fish on their pizzas. Rabbit, or just generalize it - "rodents."
Though I guess rabbits aren't technically rodents. Yeah well, both words start with "R" so that's good enough.

The Pizza Hut in Hong Kong has a pizza with seafood toppings and thousand island dressing.

Ranch dressing is what's used in pizza's with "white sauce" such as many chicken-garlic type pizzas you can get at numerous pizza places. Also, most will substitute ranch dressing with pizza sauce. So basically, the question is whether or not "sauce" is a topping.

I wasn't looking at it in that light. More of putting ranch dressing on the pizza in addition to the cheese/sauce/dough.

Well if cheese, parmesan, red peppers, marinara, sauce, etc all count...then ranch should count as well.

I was voted down as it not being a topping, but my arguement is, if you can put it on top of a pizza (excluding the cheese, sauce, and dough), then it qualifies as a topping.

We used to serve a buffalo-chicken pizza... it had the choice of ranch dressing or blue cheese on it, therefore it is a topping.

Also others:
Red Peppers
Red Onion
Romain Lettuce (Italian Hogie Pizza)
Roma Tomatoes
Roasted Garlic
Romano Cheese

scattagories is determined by vote anyway, so if they voted you down you have to accept it. besides, what are you going to do, print out this thread and show all your friends in hope of getting 1 point back?

Negatory.

Like people have said, you could put ANYTHING on a pizza, but it doesn't mean it's a mainstream ingredient or scategories material.
