Mine says "United States".

Yep - it pinpointed my location right on the nose.

EDIT: Sites 2 and 3 did find the correct state but are still 100s of miles off.

Site 1: Had no clue
Site 2: Had me in NYC
Site 3: Had me in Spring, TX

I am in Houston, so Site 3 was probably 50 miles off or so.

hostip.info said winter park florida, that is off by 1000+ miles

2 and 3 are basically correct, the DSL/phone center i am connected to is in the town it says

My favorite, WhatisMyIPAddress - try this one.

Gets me 2 miles from my correct location. Enter your IP address and zoom in to the Geo-Location map and see if it accurate.

This one put me in Wichita, KS, too - I live in AR 😛

some of these tools are client side so the server really doesn't know.

If you want to hide...it's pretty easy.

First one didn't have a clue.

Second one put me in MI (wrong)

Third one put me in Springfield, IL (Correct) but was a couple miles off

It said it had no clue for me. Chalk that up for another positive to living in the boonies.

Nevermind, sites 2 & 3 both got me. 😛

1st had no clue (literally), 2nd was the right state but off by 200-300 miles or so, 3rd was within 30 miles (but the wrong city).

Site 2 was closest (within 10 miles). The first one didn't give a city and the third one placed me in Indiana (though, Comcast is weird and when I go to do speedtests now and again, Speedtest.net says the closest server is in Cincinnati and not Chicago)

The first one said I was in the United States.

The second one said I was in Portland, OR. (Off by ~25mi).

The third one got it spot on, Hillsboro, OR.
