Steelers were favored by nine by Vegas before the game. And that was with a good chunk of players already not starting due to injury. Tebow defies some crazy odds... never bet against God.

Imagine what the pre-season odds of Denver making and winning the superbowl were!

He won against a team that was better in pretty much every category. Give the guy credit. I mean, look at Brady, his first super bowl win had a "meh" performance until that final drive. He is no Brady, but you can't just go, "Look at his stats". It is only one part of the story.

I'm not saying he's better than anyone else. How many other "humble" guys get the hate that Tebow does? None.

oh dont get me wrong, CPA, i'm in full agreement with you.

it's a shame that there are 1000 TO's for every 1 tebow.

sorry, read you wrong.

Shamelessly pulled this from a comment on chron.com. I thought it was funny:

And when it came to pass at the end of the quarter of four, the Scribes and Pharisees met at the gate of the Mile High Tabernacle, and they called for Tebow. When Tebow appeared, the Scribes and Pharisees asked of him, "Rabbi is it within the law to flip the coin of Caesar on the Sabbath Day to determine who will possess the sacred ball at the dawn of overtime?"

And Tebow, sensing their treachery said, "Give unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar; but be sure to call heads rather than tails."

But the Scribes and Pharisees disobeyed Tebow, and called tails.

And when it came to pass that Caesar's coin landed heads, Tebow stretched forth his mighty hand over the coolers of the Tabernacle and exclaimed, "Behold, I shall turn this Gatorade into wine."

And when the Gatorade turned to wine, the Tabernacle gates opened and the multitude gave a cry of great rejoicing. And as Tebow walked amongst the multitude, the mascot touched the hem of Tebow's garment, and Tebow said, "Who touched me?"

And the mascot, being ashamed, meekly said, "Rabbi, it is I the mascot."

And Tebow said, "Rise, and follow me to the end-zone."

Yet the mascot said, "But Rabbi, I am only a horse."

And then Tebow said, "Yea, from this day forth you shall be known as Elway and you will be the Rock upon which my church will be built."

And then, the multitude carried Tebow and his disciples across the goal line, into the end zone singing, "GLORY TO TEBOW IN THE HIGHEST; AND ON DENVER PEACE AND GOODWILL TOWARDS BRONCOS!"

And lo, the Scribes and Pharisees departed to the land of their forefathers' in defeat. They rent their garments, and there was a great cry of grieving with wailing and gnashing of teeth.

pretty much. You are in a forum (and a world) that cannot accept the fact that some people have a belief in religion. It pretty much hides them to the comebacks and plays that he has led. I do not know how he will progress as a QB, but I do know that watching him has been pretty exciting.

my take:

Tebow is polarizing, 100% Evangelical christian.

He was an awesome qp in college, crippled qb in the nfl (sh!tty mechanics, horrible makeup for nfl qb, but competitive as sh!t) And then he started winning, crippled and all. His coaches completely 'converted' the offense to suit his unconventional style, team became born again.

And [almost] everyone loves a winner, particularly at this level. Can he keep it up? Doesn't matter anymore to Pittsburg, they'll be watching the next game in their living rooms.

Whatever happens, there will be lots of 'I told you so's' either way.

Not that I don't love some good natured ribbing, especially when somebody was proven wrong, I reported this for being so damned annoying in your personal call-outs.

Quit giving fans a bad name, and instead graciously take his being wrong as embarrassment enough.

That plays a part, but there's more to it. It's because both sides can say "I told you so" and be sort of right. Kind of like politics where people get super worked up or any other debate that rages on endlessly and generates huge emotions.

The lovers of Tebow say he wins and they're right and are rewarded with these huge wins.

The haters say his throwing is suspect and they're right too and are rewarded with those awful losses at Buffalo.

The middle ground isn't there as much with the other QBs who don't generate as much press. Then, there's the huge ratings for the games so the media talks about him 24/7 to get more and more people talking about him and it's a self-serving cycle.

Leave him be; he will defend himself as needed.

There is no need to make some one eat crow - soon enough you will be in the same situation.

Edit-I'll be the better person and remove the insult.

Tebow and the Broncos played an excellent game yesterday. Hats off to them. Now I guess we'll see how they do next week against the Patriots.

Alright I put $100 on broncos to win SB at 45-1 odds lol.

haha, that would be a nice take. Would be bigger than Namath's win.

The only consolation for the Afc is that only one team can come out of the Nfc, and not both the Saints and Packers.

45-1.... those odds aren't good enough for me to put any money on Tebow beating the Patriots then Ravens then Packers/Saints. Just to much talent to get through. Hell, 45-1 sounds about right for the Pats game.

I hope he does it though!

Regardless, Jules was proven wrong and finally showed his face. I can respect that. I was tired of hearing his annoying posts about how the Broncos/Tebow won't do shit.

45-1 works out to ~3.5:1 for each game. Probably closer to 3:1 for the Pats game. Obviously, NE has a higher chance of winning, but the Broncos have the pieces to make it a fight.

The last time they played, Denver put up 160 some rushing yards in the 1st quarter and was up 9 points. Then, of course, they turned the ball over 3 times leading to 17 NE points to put the game out of reach. Historically this season, Denver doesn't turn the ball over that much so the 13 point spread is too high, if we're just talking about probabilities.

The key to beating NE has always been to control the time of possession to keep their crazy offense off the field and put tons of pressure on Brady with a 4 man rush. Denver has the possibility to do it with the run game and with Dumervil/Miller.

So while NE should win the game, they should have won the SB in 2007 too when the spread was 12.5.
