Tim Tebow is just good enough to the get the job done. His best trait is his composure and excellent defense.

Fantasy? Who cares about fantasy? AP? Sorry, but you diss Jim Brown and then mention AP? Are you joking?

I'd just go with both. Talk about a change of pace. Sanders will run circles around you and Brown will just run you the fuck over.

AP is a brutal runner, though, very much like Brown was. He runs through and over people all the time. it's awesome to watch.

Yep, Skip Bayless told me that Tebow personally coaches and drills the defense.

He also caught those Christian Ponder interceptions and personally kicked the game winning field goal!

I don't hate Tebow though. I don't discount the idea that his presence has a significant psychological impact even on the defensive side of the ball. Of course that could just be because the Broncos are hot again and have clawed their way back from a 1-4 start.

And you don't have to be an awesome QB to win games. Look at Alex Smith. His numbers are average this year, not a ton of yards. The main thing is he doesn't have a lot of interceptions and the 49ers have a very good defense. The Bengals are cooling off now but Andy Dalton is still in charge of a winning team with a shot at a wild card despite having mediocre numbers.

He tries to be like Brown, but he just isn't. I think he's probably a better pure runner though, which is why I don't get why he tries so hard to play like Brown.

AP is good, often even great, but I think he could be better if he wasn't so deadset on running his own way. I also think he suffers a lot in short yardage situations. I've seen him get stuffed on 3rd and 1 too many times.

I think he should aim to be more like Eric Dickerson. That's who he reminds me of more. A guy that can run over some, but should look for the best running route first.

It's very hard to compare historical players. Defensive linemen are bigger, faster, and stronger than they ever have been. MN's line isn't exactly great, and they have a rookie QB right now. On 3 and 1 defenses stack the box knowing AP is getting the ball. With as monstrous as defenders are at this point and the respect of MN's offense it's not hard to see why his success can be low.

The Bengals have only "cooled off" in that they've been facing the Ravens and the Steelers. Something Cam Newton doesn't have to worry about. It's pretty hard to be ROTY when you have four guaranteed losses on your schedule. Even then, Dalton did a good job and three of his four games vs. the Ravens and Steelers so far. If he can do a good job in the last game of the season vs. the Ravens, I think he should get the award win or lose.

As for Tebow, he's better than you think, but not as good as the hype. He's good enough to not turn the ball over, but not good enough to make consistent throws down field. Von Miller is pretty much a lock for DROTY.

If Miller stays out with his injury, I hope Aldon Smith can close that gap.

Dalton shouldn't win OROY. Their SOS is roughly the same. Cam has to do more for his team. He's setting records in the process.

I'm mostly on the Tebow bandwagon but wow, the media has some extreme people. LA Times or something had a poll going and more than 60% said Tebow should be MVP this season.

One of the talking heads on ESPN said if Rodgers goes 15-1 and drops a game, then Tebow should be MVP over Rodgers because Tebow just wins. I hope the MVP voting is better than the stupid coaches' polls in college football. Not that the coaches are not right but their voting is always in their own self interests.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tebow in the Pro Bowl. Supposedly, he's 4th right now in the voting and I expect that to go up over the next few weeks unless he puts up more turnover crazy Detroit games but I don't see that happening with 50+ rushes per game.

Oh, I know. Brown was as big if not bigger than a lot of the guys he ran over, but the sport was more brutal back then.

O-lineman are bigger, faster, stronger than ever too though. Its not just this season I'm talking about, its his whole career. Its certainly not entirely his fault, but with the way he tries to run, you'd think he'd be a good short yardage guy.

See, that's why I don't get the people saying "no one is arguing that Tebow's ________", there are people doing exactly that if not more. Just look at this thread and the dolt trying to say Tebow is much better than Barry Sanders.

The Pro Bowl is a joke anyway.

Speaking of credit. Von Miller should be getting mentioned for Defensive Player of the Year, not just Rookie. Yes he is that good. Unfortunately missing this last game might have ruined his chances, although I think living in Tebow's shadow is probably the bigger hindrance to him getting proper credit.

Obviously Tim Tebow has no business being talked about as an MVP or really even a Pro Bowler. His real test will be this week. I know Tebow is a good winner and he will be able to help his team beat average to below average team, so roughly half the league. But he needs to be able to compete with good teams now. The Patriots are a very good team. I don't expect the Bronco's to win. I would like to see Tebow compete in this game though. If he can make a game of it, I'll say he has a future. If they get blown out again... he will have some work to do.

With Chicago being down their top two Pro-bowl caliber skill positions on offense this game isn't going to go well for them. Tebow will be 7-1 this week.

The bottom line: I have gotten immense satisfaction from watching Tim Tebow play this season. I look forward to the games in which he appears.

I don't get the intolerable personality vibe from him either. Though, maybe I'm just slightly more accepting of different religions and traditional values. I don't believe in organized religion, per se, but most definitely do believe in a higher power.

You are aware that many QB's deemed Pro Bowlers cannot even beat "half the league"? Like Vick for example. Tebow's consistency in his first full year is nothing short of amazing.
