Yes, 90 lashes is extreme by my standards, but this is their culture, and I have no right to tell other people what to do or how to live their lives. I'm sure they think alot of our things are extreme, but in a different way. But, alot of people don't like western culture. This might be a way for them to combat that. Mobile phone in a classroom where they are supposed to be learning? I sometimes wish our teenagers would keep mobile phones out of a classroom and try learning something for a change other than what happened on American Idol last night. When we give our children a timeout for poor grades or don't give them an allowance, they are doing something which is going to influence many others outside of the situation from doing the same. Different strokes for different folks, and I sometimes wish we'd be more extreme. We could learn from such barbarism.

Saudi Arabia's biggest export besides oil is terrorism and a barbaric culture. They've spread it far and wide (read: Pakistan, Afghanistan etc) and it's infected these nations like a virus. Until the source is rooted out, terrorism will be here to stay.
