So you agree she has no qualifications for the job? I didn't see an argument to convince me otherwise.

Shes not, but obama is? LOL??!?!
Exactly, you can't argue one without bringing up the other.

The entire RNC speaker list are rewriting their speeches right now because they can't present the "inexperienced" argument anymore.

Sad. That means they'll actually have to talk about their embrace of Bush's policies.

She has the experience on a smaller scale. The problem is... if you say Palin is not ready for the job then you agree Obama is not ready for the job. He is at the top of your ticket and Palin is on the bottom of ours. It's not exactly a healthy argument to make.

Good God you are dumb. A VP pick hasn't been important in carrying a state in something like 40 some years. It's a none-issue.

Do you think thats still true when the VP pick is the governor of said state and has a 90% approval rating? That's not exactly Dan Quayle, now is it?

What is your point? Alaska was going red anyway.

Nick, do you think Bush had qualifications in 2000?

Change topics, good idea.

If you bring up Obama in response to Palin, what's wrong with bringing up Bush?

Bush isn't running for president, dumbass. Do you really have to ask?

Zero's logic is that: When Palin takes the presidency, she will have no experience and the nation is therefore: Fucked. But Obama will have Biden by his side just in case something happens. So if you take McCain by this logic, your gambling the country's future to some soccer mom with absolutely no foreign policy experience. With that - your nation is screwed. But Biden being Obama's VP fills that void and many more quality's that this 'Palin' frankly has nothing to fill it with in the unlikely event of a something happening to the would-be president.

I'm curious how much Obama raised after ~43 million watched his speech last night.

If 10% of people who watched donated only $5, that's $20 million in the bank.

I think we need a "hug a republican day" for this one.

Democrats need do NOTHING. Say NOTHING.
Just sit back and watch the republicans suffer a huge melt-down.
You guys, you're trying soooo hard. So hard...

I like the Palin pick. Yes, please sit back, relax. A year the democrats should have been able to run a campaign with their eyes closed, one leg, and an arm tied around their back, they are now tied in and getting scared. Face it, you're party is full of professional losers. Even if the Rs lose this election, it's so close the Ds are still a joke.

Resorting to personal attacks already? Why don't you answer the next question I asked to Nick instead of posting the middle of the argument. He's off the hook because apparently he admits he has no response and/or he was 15 at the time Bush took office. WHat's your excuse?

Biden/Obama? Yes.

Palin/McCain? Fuck no.

If McCain wins the election, pray for his good health. America will be the laughing-stock of the world if soccer mom Palin is sitting in the oval office.

Are you admitting that Obama is not ready?

They didn't need donations. They were selling their 'free' tickets to big-time donors and lobbyists at $1mil a pop.

I'm sorry but you'll have to excuse us, anytime that Clinton was brought up in a debate over the past 8 years we were accused of playing the "but Clinton" card. I'm sure you'll understand if we find it a little bit hypocritical for the left to start bringing up GWB every chance they get.

Why? Do you not understand that a Governor is basically the president of a state?

Considering they of course waited in the 6 mile line outside of the stadium to see him - that is, of course they paid for their place in line. This is a joke. How much has the McCain campaign taken from lobbyists again? Last I checked, Obama has taken a huge fraction of that.

Oh, and the what? 10,000-20,000 in St. Paul are all blind idiots following a celebrity too... Considering the campaign couldn't find enough people in the entire state to fill the stadium in which they had to bus people in from other states just to fill it.

Pros: GOP soccer moms are getting excited

Cons: GOP everyone else sees her as a softie, and will cringe every time she exalts Hillary Clinton in her speeches to con Democratic women voters.

Just wait until the first debate. Creationism. Abortion. Drilling ANWR (something even McCain opposes). Her ethics investigation. It'll all come out.

McCain has the foreign policy experience dipshit, his VP no matter who, did not need it. Romney definitely didn't have it, neither did any of the other people getting vetted.

Quit bringing up creationism, it isn't even a fricken issue.

Really, it's getting hilarious watching the huge Obama supporters go into denial on McCain's pick.

Whether or not this helps McCain with dissaffected Hillary voters-- who knows? Maybe a little, it will. But it certainly helps McCain with the conservative wing of the Republican party-- the one group who was wary of him and who only tepidly supported him. With the selection of an NRA-card carrier, pro-lifer, reformer governor he has shored up his base considerably.

You do realize how sad it is when you and your Iike are so "fired up" over the VP nod - more so than the person running for President....

\the same people who were tearing McCain down before he got the nomination as the Gop candidate....

As I recall, half of the Dem party wasn't exactly "fired up" over their nominee either.

It doesn't really matter why they're "fired up". What matters is that they are fired up and that they're fired up at the right time.

Coming to you from the bright red state of Alabama, I can honestly say this is the first sign of real fire I've seen from the local Republicans. They watched, with envy, the excitement that surrounded the Obama campaign early on and they've been longing for some excitement of their own. They began to rally a little when they saw that the race was close and that Obama was vulnerable but their discouragement returned with the excitement of the Dem convention.

Today, they were expecting Obama would get a big polling boost, McCain would announce Romney as his running mate and the long boring campaign would drag on. What they got instead was a spark and a spark is all they needed.

I really wish it was Romney, then it would've been a competent Administration no matter who won. Now we have to deal with this creationist queen. Fuck.

Then McCain would have bee attacked for picking a flip-flopping, greasy, used car sales man that laid people off, ruined families.... but whatever.

Tons of people believe in a creator. She didn't change the science curriculum as Governor and she won't as vice president. She only said a healthy debate never hurt anyone... except for evolutionists apparently... who freak the hell out anytime someone might be thinking it could be an idea to educate kids on other ways people believe we came about.

its a fucking science class, not a damn philosophy course.

If you want to make philosophy a mandatory high-school course then go ahead (and i'll support you all the way)

Color me unsurprised. There is still a huge enthusiasm gap between the GOP and Democrats this year. Getting Republicans to the polls on November 4th will be their biggest hurdle.

Seriously...my mother is very motivated to vote now...so is my wife...she was moderately supportive of McCain...now both of them are going to the polls together to vote for McCain...I think you underestimate the power that Palin may have on mothers and their identification with her...
No, I completely understand she'll appeal to the creationist pro-life mothers of America. 99% of those people were never going to vote for Obama anyway.

Are you illiterate? My mother was going to vote for Obama! Now she's not! I don't think she's the one percent you're hoping for...she came over to my house while on her way home from picking up my niece to take her out for the day...she came over and was glued to the TV watching the announcement...so excited a woman, a mother, was on the ticket. I wonder how many mothers out there were leaning or planning on voting for Obama and now have either completely changed their minds or are questioning why they support Obama. The new soccer/security moms...

There's a reason it was canceled after one season.

A 72 year old, ex-vet, ex-POW, who has dealt with multiple bouts with cancer, needs to choose a VP that is ready on day one. Americans aren't oblivious to this fact.

Well by golly! Let me make sure I understand this..

McCain = Experience, ready for the job (none executive)
Palin = Executive experience on a small scale, a little time in VP post and she's ready

Obama = very, very little experiece (non executive)
Biden = tons of experience (non executive)

So we need a president that is ready on day one, and according to you, McCain is already dead, so the VP needs to be the one that is actually ready on day one.... BUT the person on the top of the ticket on the dem side has less experience or equal (but not more) experience BUT Palin is not ready and Obama is. You do understand you logic doesn't make any sense, right?

😕

how the hell does a part time job qualify as expirience?

You'll find out after the end of the month, as always.

He averaged $50 million per month for the last two. Given how the DNC went this year...I say he clocks in at $70-$75 million for August.
