The day McBush adopted the theme of "change", he lost the election. Bush and Cheney get air time at the RNC next week 😉

You keep saying she is Big Oil, but that is BS. She is the first Governor we had had in a while that wasn't in the pocket of Big Oil. She revoked their leases on wells they drilled and capped because they were waiting for the price of oil to rise, despite the fact that the wording of the leases stipulated that the wells had to be developed and the oil brought to market. There is pending legal action between Alaska and the oil companies. Yeah, she is really in their pocket.

She struck me as a doe in the headlights. I was not impressed by the speech, but then again I suppose it had to be about her ? but that is just boring.

no substance, just wishfull thinking, if you really think this election is over one way or the other, you must not know much.

Alsaka politics i guess is the most corrupt in US so not sure about her credentials either... I still go for Romney

She is known for majorly cleaning up Alaska's politics.

Looks like McCain's gonna get alot of the Hillary supporters.

Let's see, a rock star nominee, & beltway insider screaming change versus a couple of maverick Republicans who have really changed things...

I need to rent Idiocracy again to get ready for the next 4 years 🙁

I don't know what you're big scare is, presidents don't set the curriculum for science classes.

Why don't you do some research on her "big oil" connections, she went head to head with them. For complaining about talking points , you seem to do nothing but repeat them.

Obama's response:

Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies -- that's not the change we need, it's just more of the same.

Care to explain why? Or are you and other mindless drones just gonna repeat lines like this over and over again and hope it takes hold?

So is McCain gonna nab that ass? If so then this definitely belongs in L&R.

The question to ask is whether he'll get it up.

Well, if he were to ever be so lucky in his wet dreams, she'd have to do all the work since he can't move his arms.

Her "staunchly against abortion-rights" will just pile on the evanglical/pro-life votes, making the Republican ticket that much less appealing to the rest of us

Lets be honest, McCain's camp did what it wanted to do with this pick today. It totally wiped out any coverage in the news of Obama's speech last night.

Exactly why they waited and selected such a sensational VP. Not to mention the GOP convention would've been a total snoozer - at least now some people will watch (not including me of course).

No, the thought simply boggles the mind.

I can't see it too, scares the shit out of me...

not as much as President Obama or Biden scares me.

oh shut up. christ... what a stupid and tired thing to say...

as if it was any different from what he said, lol, dish it but as soon as someone disagrees with you you tell them to shut up.

Lol. You are so desperate! This is great.

It's not about desperation, it's about interests. She's obviously putting more interest in her political career than her family. Maybe she'll be like McCain and take the weekends off.

So that means your point is really you just looking at for her families best interest? I'll agree with Corbett on this one, you are desperate

Is that really his response? Completely intellectually dishonest of him to do.

Good God, if people judged him by the way he was judging her, by his standards he should have never been nominated. He has ZERO foreign policy experience and is running for president.

fricken idiot.

I've been reading blogs from "both sides" as it were. Its interesting to note the R's think this is a slam dunk strategy and the D's seem to think this is a train wreck.

Guess time will tell. But regardless, its interesting that no matter WHAT one side does the other thinks its just terrible.

On the up side, no matter who wins in this election, it will be historic.
We will either have the first Black President or the first Female Vice President.
Pretty cool.

eskimo, you sound desperate.

The fact that Obama has no experienced doesn't seem to bother you one bit. But all of a sudden the fact that McCain has picked someone with no experience ruins his chance in the fall??

mccain has experience? really? no... he's got age... lots of it. not experience.

Wow, what a deep, thought provoking response...no go sit in time out.

As for Pliablemoose, I'll agree that Obama is a "rockstar," but that's about as deep as his platform goes. No policies, just "Change, yes, change! No more Bush for 4 years, blah." Not that the Republicans have a terribly sturdy platform to run on ATM but I think that McCain's VP pick will help him out tremendously when it comes time to vote.

Kinda funny how both sides "know" that the other has lost...really I think it's gonna be an interesting election and I look forward to seeing how the people vote.

As opposed to a senator who has never governed anyone?

EDIT: I've said before that I would've been happy with a McCain/Romney Presidency but I don't want this shit. McCain was not thinking about the Presidency. He was thinking about the election.

Now that's a laugh. As if you would ever vote Republican. And your remark is highly sexist and completely inappropriate. Women have prfessions to and more power to a women who can handle both a career and a family. Lord knows I don't know how I would.

I'm a Republican, genius, and this is a pro-McCain thread I started not long ago. For this election, I will only be voting Democratic ONCE (for the Presidency). Everyone else will most likely be Republican.

LOL! So you are voting for Obama because you dont like McCain? Thats as pathetic as those who vote McCain because Hillary lost.

You are as dumb as they come. WHere in my post do you see me not liking McCain? Personally, he's a good man. But I disagree with his policies. Really, learn to read.

Or you could try telling us why you are voting for Obama instead of McCain. And what policies you think Obama holds that are closer to your "Republican" views than those of John McCain.

Getting the fuck out of Iraq is one. The other one is helping soldiers returning home. The rest are more out of concern for rebalancing the country.

LOL! The Iraq issue is a done deal. Either president will bring troops home around the same time now due to the Surge that McCain supported and Obama did not. As far as taking care of the soldiers when they return, well, McCain supports that as well, if not more than Obama.

You still have yet to post why you support Obama instead of McCain and how those ideas that Obama holds line up more with your "Republican Views"

it's because the republicans know it's a trainwreck and they're trying their best to be optomistic about it and sugarcoat it...

sad fact for republicans is no matter how much sugar you dump on a pile of shit, it still ends up tasting like shit with sugar on it.

Funny, the R side says about the same thing about the Obama ticket.

As nearly everyone knows, I am a partisan dem, and while I do not know much about Palin yet, but from a neutral perspective, I think McCain made a very good pick and underestimating it could turn into a giant mistake for democrats.

Lots of good image, but will the substance match the image is the question for Palin?
