I vaguely remembering hunting around for info, and I just double checked, you can flash it and then OC the snot out of them, but they are stuck at 640 SP.

Picture is now up on Newegg - it's the card I suspected it to be. I'm sure it will come back in stock again soon.

Review of card: http://www.kitguru.net/components/g...5830-hd5850-xtreme-edition-review-crossfirex/

Card performs to spec, but with the shorter PCB and simpler cooler, it doesn't overclock that well. The memory overclock they achieve is particularly low - at 1110, it's even under the CCC limit. Oh well - it's a budget design at a budget price.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Y'all notice it only has one X-Fire bridge connection?

That's fine for crossfire - it just won't run tri-fire. Again, simpler card, much shorter PCB... the extra crossfire connector probably just wouldn't fit. Good compromise in a budget card.

In crossfire, it's still beating a GTX580 in most benchmarks.

Warning: Price increase has hit. Now listed at $150FS. When it comes back in stock, it will no longer be a killer deal.

Congrats to those who got it at $130.

OP - can you edit the title? Just click Edit and "Go Advanced" in the first post.

5850 is better than a 6850? They are the same price...

Yes, see link...

Back in stock at $150FS. Definitely the best deal going at that price, but not quite as hot as the original deal. This will easily beat the HD6790, HD6850, and GTX460 1GB, which are the other cards at this price: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_6790/22.html

Thanks for posting that. Do you have rendering errors in anything other than Unigine?

I hope Sapphire didn't rush out a junk product...this is not a good sign.

Everything, clear back to Dues Ex and Gothic 1

Just received one, so it works fine in place of my Power Color 5850. Doesn't want to overclock past 800, but The Sapphire Trixx software I have installed won't raise the core voltage past the stock 1.088 volts. This card also runs warmer than the Power Color Card. The heatsinks are the same style, but the one on the Power Color card is larger and has a slightly larger fan which explains the lower temps.

Edit: The stock vcore on my Power Color is 1.15 volts, the Sapphire is 1.088. The Sapphire also drops to near .9 volts while idling, my Power Color does not drop at idle.

Good to hear we have at least one working card here. Most of the reviews peg the overclock at 800, which is a bit low, but not terrible. They also mention the inability to control voltage.

Are you planning on crossfiring? If so, let us know how it goes.

BTW, sounds like your older Powercolor is not spec'd quite right - stock volts should be 1.087, with an idle at .949. I guess that means it should overclock well though, just uses a lot of power at idle and load. I can actually run my XFX at stock speeds (725/1000) with only 1.0v, which means it uses very little power and runs cool. I can also overvolt it to get past 5870 speeds.

I picked up the PowerColor through hot deals back in January for $169. As far as I know it also uses a non standard board and is only about 1/4" longer than the Sapphire.

The Sapphire will actually go to a friend for an upgrade or new build. I don't have a crossfire capable board and am actually happy with the performance of one card. I just wanted to ensure it worked due to the DOA's.
