Can someone ( or anyone) comment on how their drives have performed since the new FW has been installed? Has your system been stable and responsive?
I got my SSD a few weeks ago, installed the FW and haven't had an issue yet. Granted I lost 6 days due to a power outage, but I feel confident using it.

Since you said "anyone".. you'll have to settle for me Burner. lol

Your input is just as valuable as anyone else's. I appreciate your comments. I was just wondering about peoples experiences. I myself traded some items for a brand new Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD and they (Kingston) released a firmware too. Just wasn't sure if it was to fix the SF issues as well.

Was that the same Nor'easter that went through my neighborhood (upstate NY) that dumped 8" snow? I lost power for 36 hours but had the generator going so it wasn't THAT bad. ;) It's 61F outside where i am now..........freaky.

I recently bought a Corsair Force 3 Series SSD and an OCZ Solid 3 (both are SF-2200 drives). Updated the firmware on both before I did anything. Haven't had any issues yet *knock on wood*

Thanks.. appreciate you taking me at face value even if I love my Sandforce drives a little too vocally around here at times. LOL Kidding... mostly.

I don't have that drive in particular but I do visit the othe mfgrs forums that utize them in their products and all I can really say is this. They are all showing great success.

In general.. OCZ leads the way for testing and troubleshooting these sorts of issues(maybe primarily due to sales volume and being first to market on most ocassions?).. with much of the competition following shortly after. So, when you see a major fix that is proven to work in a big way.. it's usually a few weeks or less after that point that the others will also follow suit with similar fixes/updates.

With consideration that previous trend.. it seems safe/logical to say that the latest major advancements that Sandforce has released would in fact be very similar in code regardless of the mfgr using them.

Just some more input from a Sandforce student working on his masters degree with these controllers. Plus, as a beta-tester for this controller.. it pays to know as much as possible regardless of the mfgr using it. :)

So, did it work?
Are people still experiencing the issue or is it really finally completely solved and I can start recommending sandforce drives to people looking for an SSD?

At this point, I would stick to the more reputable brands like crucial and intel. Most people don't have the time to deal with these small glitches. Considering OCZ's/Sandforce's track record, I would stay away for another generation. Hopefully LSI can make some improvements here.

I can't wait for next gen, next gen will bring new bugs with it.
But this was the last known bug in this current gen.

Hi taltamir.. was that a general audience question.. or aimed specifically at me? Won't waste my breath if it's not.

general audience. And it would have been less effort to write "yes it worked for me" or "I am still experiencing problems" then what you wrote.

why?.. are we at OCZ forums where we're only asked for a simple yes or no answer without any perspective being given? lol

Because if that's all you're after?.. seems like it may be better to go elsewhere and read from the mfgrs who actually make these devices if that's all you need for an answer. Surely the 17 users around here are not going to give you a very good cross section of the actual result.

Not to mention it is a general discussion thread about the newest fixes for this controller.. not a "yes" or "no" poll. :hmm:

sorry for the waste of time there.. will try to just be a bit more ignorant than usual from now on.. as I seem to suffer from assrimonious replies on ocassion.

Usually just blowing off steam most of the time with an devilish grin on my face when replying like that.. but needless to say.. I often get in trouble for it too. A reality slap once in a while is usually all that's needed though.. so point well taken. ;)

They kind of have to, since they just about bet the farm on SSDs.
