San Fransisco to vote on male circumcision ban in November

It seems a lot crazier than it is because it has become a normal thing in our society. I don't think I have a problem with that law, but it's touchy

It'll never pass though

I have no problem with abortion but honestly, this should be left up to the parents...not the government.

Still, this is only a ballot initiative and there is no fucking way this will pass.
It will pass or fail depending on how they word it and how religious people are. If they throw it in under the ban "cosmetic surgery" on babies, then yeah it will pass.

What do they teach in America?
They teach kids that an abortion is when a woman is 8 months pregnant and coat hangers that sucker. Dead serious.
In reality an aborted fetus looks a lot like a chicken aborted fetus. You know how you open an egg and there's that little white part connected to the yellow and surrounded by transparent goo? That white part is the fetus.

Baby? wtf?

Anti-Abortion types believe it's actually a child while still in the womb, and that therefore Abortion = Murder. Traditionally, this (or some variation) is a Conservative position.

Abortion Rights (aka "Pro Choice") has been a central issue for Liberals/Progressives for a long long time.

Yet - In this case, we have a Liberal/Progressive group of legislators trying to outlaw circumcision. IMHO, this is non~sensical since by all accounts circumcision is a far, far more benign/trivial act than abortion.

Abortion is a couple month set back. You throw one in the trash, you can replace it within 9 months. Diamond Penis is forever.

Except for the fact that the abortion argument is based on when a fetus becomes a person, while this is an argument on whether you should be able to perform cosmetic surgery on a baby that everyone agrees is a person.

Killing someone is way worse than cutting off their hand, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be barbaric to cut off a baby's hand, regardless of your stance on abortion.

I think this is a dumb proposal though.

I'm liberal. I don't care what happens with abortion laws, because I hate kids, and will never be in that situation. I detest doctors and parents that circumcise without a medical emergency.

You dont care because you dont think it affects you and you hate kids? Nice

I hadn't thought about this when my son was born and got side swiped by the doctor who came to ask if we wanted it done because I hadn't thought about it so said do it. In hindsight, this is one issue I should have researched before hand but just never thought about and probably wouldn't have had it done if I had BUT hindsight is 20/20....I cant see how having had it done to me when I was born has affected my life so I have a hard time seeing the issue with my son....shrug.

Understood - Save that cutting off a hand materially and significantly affects the child for the worse. Losing a foreskin hardly qualifies on that count, either.

Man, you're going to get fucked when you go to a car dealership 😛

typical liberal crotch minded politics. It it passes they will probably raise yet another flag dedicated to bedroom/bathroom behavior.
