Samsung s105 is a nice looking color phone that recently came out.

$300 - $50 - $250 = $0

You need to get 1 year contract with T-mobile, but any company requires contract, so...

Dont know if this will get me kick out of AT and not sure if this still works.

This is what my friend did before

My friend he have the family plan with T-Mobile and he had 3 phones in his family plan. So his monthly bill is more than $39.99 per month.

He sign up for one of the free phone deal, after he received the phone he just added the new phone into his family fan which is $10 more per month instead of paying another $40 for the new phone.

This is not a free deal.

This is like macroshaft's internet rebates they have at BB all the time.

Free means, I can receive a product without me having to purchase anything.

Well, inspite of the process of sending in forms the phone still comes out as free either way. You'll be hard-pressed to get this particular phone at that price w/o a contract. So it's a good deal especially for people who're just starting with cellphone service.

Btw, there was another $100 rebate posted on the rebates page just yesterday (and i printed out). Though the dates overlap and coincide with the current $250+$50 promotions i'm not sure if it'll get accepted. Both Amazon rebates goes to different departments and may be worth a try. If it works then one could theoretically get $100 back from this deal.

For anyone living in the Los Angeles area, most chinese owned cell phone stores have this phone for FREE (after $50 MIR). All you pay is $50 out the door. No crappy waiting for $300 in Amazon rebates. I just copped one for my girlfriend from one of the 100 cell phone stores they have in Rowland Heights. They even threw in a car charger and leather case (ugly) for free. Btw, requires one year contract from T-mobil. Pretty nice phone.

I love this phone! I just got it with the Amazon method... and I think Amazon has got something there. At a damn cell phone store, it takes an hour to buy the phone and another hour or so to activate it. When I ordered this phone from Amazon, it came activated with my new number and everything. Nice.

BTW, I have about 20 downloaded ringtones on my phone and I don't think I'll ever get tired of them. The 2.04 software (needed for irdA transfer) is located on the German Samsung site.. but the software is in english.

go to wirelessadvisor.com and check out the samsung forums for download links

I jumped on this deal even though Amazon said that service wan't available in my area (I knew it was so...no big deal).
The reception in my area (Pensacola, FL) is touch & go. When it's on, which is most of the time, it's very good. When it's off, it's OFF.
The phone itself is AWESOME! Of course, I'm upgrading from a 2 year old Erricson. The email function is quick, internet access ($2.99/month) is just "OK", battery life has been very, very good. Buttons are kinda' hard to precisely manipulate for my large hands but this is my wife's phone so it's no big deal.
Overall, I don't think there is a better deal for the phone but there are definitely better deals for the service. I got the 600 minute plan for $39.99/month. It's all I need and I can add phones for only $10 more/month.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the tech support has been great! Less than 3 minutes of "On Hold" time all of the 3 times I've called them. Their web site, on the other hand, is lousy. Totally non-intuitive and a lot of redundancy (i.e. change one of your phone's web sites & it makes you go all the way back to the beginning of the process to change another. It should let you make all of the changes at one time. Not a deal killer but still annoying.)

BTW, it only took me 40 minutes tops to buy the phone (including credit check and activation) and leave happily out the door. And 15 of those minutes were spent playing with the floor model (phone that is).

I post regularly on the wireless forums. EasyGPRS 2.04 is the name of the software. This phone is still in it's infancy stages. It's full functions will be unleased with the next flash rom:). Let's hope it comes soon! I too got my phone off Amazon btw. Good stuff, but I'm still clueless on how theT-Zones work. I mean they have 3 different plans accoridng to their site. $2.99 with 1 meg, $9.99 for 10 megs, and something called 'Blackberry' and it has no price . Anywho, info please!

Also, if you want to do everything that the data cable can do, just use an infrared port. I was astonished too, because you can actually connect to the internet through your infrared port! :Q Amzing!!!

Plan has to be $34.99 or more per month in order to qualify for the $50 rebate. Still, if you only get the $250 rebate, $50 is a great price for this phone.

Where do you get an infrared port? Can you use the IR port from a Handspring Visor or something?

Two problems with this:

One, I don't think you can add lines to a family plan through Amazon, and

Two, you have to wait for rebates.

BUT, if you can find a T-Mobile corporate store, you may be able to get the phone for free (that's free as in beer, no rebates to wait for) with activation (new account or adding line to family plan). Check out my earlier thread

Thanks.

Can anyone comment on the t-mobile coverage in the Las Vegas area? I used to have cingular, now I have nextel, and both have been pretty decent i think. I know some people with at&t and their coverage is awful here.
