This phone rocks! There is an advanced menu setting that lets you use csd to connect to the internet instead of gprs. T-mo charges $2.99/mo for gprs service. With unlimited nights and weekends I connect to nocharge.com isp in Washington state for free!!!

T-Mo charges you per megabyte though and you only get 1mb for 2.99/mo. I'd bet this wouldn't go very far.

Anyone have experience with the data you use on the phone??

They can't charge you "per megabyte" if the call only shows up as a voice call. Trust me. Or check here.

Thinking about going in on a familytime plan with T-mobile... Would be me, my fiance, and parents. They pay around $130/mo right now (don't ask). Sharing four phones we could do around $110/mo with all calls between em for free. )And, btw, no I don't live at home 😉 )

Tomorrow I'll go look at phones at the T-mobile store downtown. My only sticking point would be hoping the manager would pricematch for 4 S105 phones. Think I'm smokin' the grape-flavored crack?

1mb is enough for a cellphone, you have to remember, all browsing is text only. So unless you download tons of ringtones and pictures it'd be fine.
I have the 2.99 plan and the most Ive used so far is .79mb

Anyone know of any place in the LA or OC area that I can get this phone for free w/ contract? I don't want to wait for Amazon $200 rebate.

Not if you do e-mail from your phone as well. I go way over 1mb per month.

Yargh, not sure if I'm hoping for or against a new round of rebates once this $200 rebate is gone tomorrow. If there's a new round, I've got more time to think. If not, I guess I don't have to worry about paying for some new mobile service.

Will head into a T-mobile store and see how hard they laugh at me when I show them an Amazon printout and say I want 4 S105's for $29.99 each on a family plan.

Could order through Amazon but I'm not all that familiar in how they do things. Add to that the fact they don't offer any Family plans. Ugh.

I called t-mobile about the family plan issue. they said just buy the phones, get them up and running on the Amazon deal, then call back to T-mobile and they will convert them to the family plan. No sweat, they said.

I bought two, sux waiting for $500 worth of rebates.

Sounds promising, though I'll try my darnedest to get some sort of pricematch or substantial discount at the T-mobile store. Could sign up for 4 $19.99 plans through Amazon. But ouch, what a hit to the credit card temporarily. Not sure I really want to be waiting for $800+ in rebates.

I guess I could also go for a different phone, its just that I hear such good things about this one.

The Samsung S300 is just out here in the Netherlands, the same size as the A800 with most of the features of the S100 (and a color external screen too). Do you guys have this model out in the U.S.?

Looks like the SGH-S307 will be a version of the the S300 released in the states. Apparently the S300 is "compatible with some U.S. networks" but it's not officially sold here.

Ended up picking up a couple of these to beat the rebate deadline. Out of curiosity I just checked the site.

They've extended/renewed the rebate deadline until March 25, 2003 😉

I'll wait a week or so before cancelling my AT&T account. Will be tough giving up 800 minutes unlimited n/w (nights starting at 8 pm still) for $39.99/mo. Ah, the humanity.

T-Mobile is great in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs! I presonally pricematched my Sony Ericsson T300 at one of those T-mobile mall kiosks with Amazon. (when the T300 was free after rebate)

Does anyone have the old $250 MIR form? I used the old form to PM at a local T-Mobile back in December and worked like a charm...now I have decided to get another phone, so would take the old $250.00 MIR and my previous receipt and try to get the same deal (free) 🙂

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Anyone?
