When I looked from work about two hours ago amazon.com had it listed for free. Now (6:30pm EST) it's back up to $50 again... Am I missing something? Can someone verify what the price is?

Thanks!

This is in response to the IR port question.

I'm not sure about the connection via your PDA... I used my laptop and it worked great... no problems at all.

You can find the EasyGPRS on eBay. I bought mine off a guy that included a ton of free polyphonic ring tones for $10.

Reception in Vegas is excellent. I heard somewhere that Cingular and T-Mobile share some of the same network, but I can't confirm that. T-Mobile has better customer service and a good choice of plans. I just got a T-Mobile phone for my girlfriend. Also, most T-Mobile stores will pricematch Amazon price AFTER rebates, but you have to bring in a copy of the page and find a nice manager. YMMV on this one, but it's worth it not having to worry about rebates.

The price is down to $280 - $200 - $50 = $30. The $50 rebate expires at the end of this month. The $200 one on 3/3.

I took a dive.

I just bought this phone last month from a local T-mobile store in the mall in Indianapolis. They pricematched Amazon's price of $50 (and that meant no waiting for rebates.)

If you're lucky, you might get the same deal.

This phone rocks! There is an advanced menu setting that lets you use csd to connect to the internet instead of gprs. T-mo charges $2.99/mo for gprs service. With unlimited nights and weekends I connect to nocharge.com isp in Washington state for free!!!

Not sure what it stands for, but it allows your phone to act as its own dial up modem. So using nocharge.com or an existing dial up account, you can surf while only using your airtime minutes. Very nice.

T-Mobile in Chicago is middle of the road. It's Good and some places, and bad in the other. Verizon is the best wireless carrier in Chicago, but you can't but the deals from T-Mobile.

Anyone know of any place in the LA or OC area that I can get this phone for free w/ contract? I don't want to wait for Amazon $200 rebate.

I don't of any particular place, but I got mine pricematched to Amazon.com at a local dealer. That was when it was $50, though...not free.

Good luck.
