Samsung is a dirty little company

I could care less about Apple products & what repercussions Samsung's decisions / actions would be felt by Apple.

Samsung products, OTOH, have been great & I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Japan and China are completely different societies when it comes to quality. THe Japanese have always been obsessed with quality. Not so the Chinese.

Completely untrue. You want quality, you pay more to your outsourced Chinese factory. Apple products are fairly top-notch, and they're made in China by the same company that makes everyone else's electronics products.

Apple may not be perfect, but Samsung is classless shit that rips off not only Apple, wholesale, but just about every other manufacturer out there. The new Galaxy S phone is the amalgamation of just about every idea they could steal from every other company in the mobile space.

I know! How dare a company make a rectangular device with a touch screen. Its offensive that they used pictures in a grid too. Dirty bastards should rot in hell. Its total BS, everyone knows Apple invented the rectangle, the touch screen, pictures, and grids.

This isn't complicated, people. Just because it's made in China doesn't mean it's Chinese. It's still the manufacturer's standards that goes into that product. Apple tells the manufacturer exactly how it wants its products produced. The factory makes it according to that standard. There have been Chinese companies that have bought Japanese firms and the standards were wildly different. The Japanese could not accept what the Chinese found acceptable (in terms of flaws in products). Eventually, the Chinese ended up losing all the Japanese workers and were left with the IP, factory, and machine assets. And the products were made in China. Once clients got wind of what was going on they either left or demanded lower prices.

funny
that is EXACTLY what the iphone was when it first came out

LOL. Right. Lemme guess, you're one of those sad cases that contest the iPhone is a ripoff if the LG Prada, with its awesome ATM machine style touch interface. Right.

Apple might not be perfect is an understatement. I love how you act like Samsung is so despicable yet, go back to Apple's origins. The company was founded by them ripping off others' ideas.

An amalgamation, oh no!!! That's so rare for a company to take good ideas from competitors and integrate them into their own. Odd that you don't get pissed about Apple doing that though.

That's fine as long as you add innovations of your own. What pray tell has Samsung introduced in the innovation department recently?

Apart from most of the hardware that Apple uses for their phones you mean?

Plus what, exactly, has apple innovated on recently anyway?

people who blindly defend Apple are as funny as those that blindly attack them.

Apple has a long history of stealing ideas and making them work and work far better then anyone else.

without apple i think they push tech faster. MP3 players sucked before apple really got the IPOD out. The IPAD touch is great (if not so expensive i would get one).

Same with the IPHONE after it came out everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

Silly lad..."Made in Japan" used to be synonymous with "junk," much like "Made in China" is today.

In my lifetime, it's gone like this:

Made in Japan
Made in Hong Kong
Made in Taiwan
Made in China.

As the standard of living in each country/region improved...and the workers wanted more and more, the companies moved their production to a different country where the workers would produce their "crap" for lower wages.
While Japan perhaps can't be blamed for producing "crap products," the end results were still there...

This is only hearsay, but my father says the same thing about how Japanese products used to be complete junk. I don't remember what else he said about it exactly but I can't argue with the opinion of a person who experienced something before I was even born.

samsung are very shady, i knew this when i got a lcd fitted with some random low quality panel. when i asked they said half of the products where made with cheaper, bad quality material to save costs.

Samsung can sacrifice kittens at the altar for all I care, as long as the end result is they demolish Apple's claims in court.

The alternative is Apple patenting the rectangle.

😕

In what universe does the Apple I look anything like the other computers of the time? Let's compare it to the Altair 8800 that Gates was using to peddle BASIC.

If only they recalled the dialog from Back to the Future Part III!

Doc: No wonder this part failed. It says "Made in Japan".
Marty: What do you mean, Doc? All the best stuff is made in Japan.

Apple's goal is to steal good ideas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW0DUg63lqU "We have always been shameless about stealing great ideas." -Steve Jobs

It kinda depends. I've encountered some of that which is nothing more than "American made is best" mixed with a bit of anti-Japanese resentment over WWII. I'm not saying there's no merit to it beyond that, but I've encountered some that is absolutely not. But then, I know too many people that refuse to change their mind even with evidence.

I think you have North and South Korea mixed up. And, "justice" in America is no model for the rest of of the 1st world.

South Korea is pretty off kilter too. Not nearly as bad as the North, but still out there. While I somewhat agree (American justice is certainly not perfect), if you think justice elsewhere in the world is any better as a whole then I don't know what to tell you.
