TBH ive never had one go bad, actually ive never had any of them go bad (CF, SD, Micro SD,.....)


USB thumb drives are a dif story

Can I have the link to the site?

IF this is true, then wow that's amazing.

Maybe Samsung used some more efficient batteries coupled with the efficient Exynos 7420.

That test probably counts work done along with power consumption, then extrapolates efficiency from there. It may serve an academic interest but not at all representative in real life usage scenario.

I swap 2 128gb cards all the time between devices. Has all my media that I want to access anytime I decide to take a different device, say to the beach, or for traveling. No SD slot means no sale for me.

I have a 128gb sd card in my note 4 as well. If Samsung wants to keep me as a customer, leave the sd slot in the note.

Canadian carriers accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge

There are slight variations in pricing between carriers, but let's look at what Bell is charging for both phones. The 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 is priced at the equivalent of $195 USD with a two-year pact. Sans contract, the phone is priced at $571 USD. The 64GB model is priced at $281 USD with your John Hancock on a two-year pact, and $657 USD off-contract. The 128GB variant with a two-year contract is priced at the equivalent of $367 USD. Without a contract, the price is $743 USD.

The 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is offered for $274 USD on contract, $649 USD off-contract. The 64GB version is priced at $360 USD with a signed pact and $735 USD without one. And lastly, the 128GB Galaxy S6 edge has a 2-year contract price of $446 USD and an off-contract price of $820 USD.

Edit: It is NOT true. Stupid PhoneArena. Rogers has the S6 for $250 and the S6 Edge for $350 under 2-year contract.

Rogers' handset pricing is as wild as AT&T's, btw.

Your move Samsung... HTC M9 Uh Oh replacement policy

Free of charge, M9 owners will be able to claim one replacement phone during the first 12 months after buying it, and the protection on offer goes beyond just smashes screens. Water damage also is included, and the offer also applies if you decide to change carriers during the first year of ownership. The latter point is a big deal given that some U.S. carriers are now offering to pay the early termination fees of switchers joining their networks. Replacement phones will be sent out overnight to customers, HTC says.

Or, alternatively, if you don't use any of these replacements, you can get $100 towards the cost of a new HTC One device — an added incentive for M9 buyers to transition to a possible HTC One M10 next year. It's a compelling package that covers some of the major worries of smartphone owners — and one that's sure to leave HTC buyers in other territories feeling a little jealous.

Not sure if Samsung has to make any move. This is a good move by HTC to differentiate themselves as well as build long term customer loyalty. But they're a small company barely breaking even. Considering how strong the S6 looks, there doesn't look like there's a need to follow suit.

I like the new Galaxy S6! But I wanted the Emerald Green in the S6! Not sure if I willing to pay the extra $150 for a S6 Edge model. I just set for it in Black I guess. Quite pricey since it more then the iPhone 6 with same storage!

But to be fair the iPhone 6 looks dated next to the S6, both inside and outside.

I am looking to see if the situation is going to be like last year's Note 4, where you could not get unlocked LTE version at any cost in the U.S. I actually like the new Touchwiz (sans icons) on the S6/Edge, but I do not have high hopes when it comes to carriers not meddling with it one way or another.

For example, on AT&T's Note 4:

We should petition the FCC to reign in this disgusting practices by the carriers.
